start to live in a state of what I call well-being peace and ease my name is

Prime and one of the biggest things that we work on with clients is how to get
their system out of a state of anxiety and worry because I don’t know about you
but I have not yet met a human being that when they’re in that state of worry
when they’re in a state of frustration and anger they go out and
produce excellent results if you look at your life you’ll probably notice that
the results the best results that you’ve produced have always come when you’re in
a state of well-being when you feel happy when you feel peace what do you
feel fulfilled so the real question is how do we do that
and one of the biggest components of having stress or overwhelmed or anxiety in
the system is something called resistance see the human mind has a
The funny thing is that it does it is constantly looking to protect us now it
doesn’t look to protect us from the immediate actions or immediate
circumstances that are happening you’ll probably notice that there are some
circumstance in your life right now that what your mind has done is created every
what if every shoulda every cut up and it’s already looking to plan ninety
seven steps ahead of where you are right now whether that’s getting in
or out of a relationship whether that’s taking some sort of step in your
business or maybe it’s even something with your spouse or kids you’ll notice
that the mind likes to create things for us to worry about
now how do we backtrack that because that will always lead to stress and anxiety
and worry the make-believe stories that the mind makes will always feel you
leaving frustrated angry overwhelmed so the first thing to understand is
inch-by-inch is a cinch yard by yard it’s hard meaning what if you actually
looked at just the one next action step that you can take because look at the
reality of life have you ever created a game plan so far out that everything’s
happened the way that you designed it Mike Tyson used to say everyone’s got a
game plan then they get punched in the face
the truth is that life happens to all of us no one’s got it figured out no one
has the answers to everything because life is constantly unfolding and it’s
sending us things that we don’t necessarily like I took a course one
time and someone said you know choose between vanilla and chocolate but life
doesn’t show up choose between vanilla and chocolate sometimes life just says
choose vanilla and you don’t like vanilla or sometimes even worse it says
choose cancer or choose being fired or choose losing a loved one now do you
have a choice and how these things unfold no you do however have a
choice in how you respond to these things and that’s worth going to work on
because that is what creates suffering that is what creates pain that is what
creates anxiety and stress and those things in your body are killers so you
want to go out and live this amazing life but if in your system there’s a
a constant state of anxiety and stress and being overwhelmed because you’re worried about
things that probably will never even occur because of your resistance to what is the
reason that you struggle if you could just bring yourself to a state of
accepting and realizing this is exactly my perfect life experience this
is exactly what I meant to experience because there’s some valuable
a monumentally valuable lesson in this for me look back at your life and you’ll
probably realize that your biggest hardships up until this day are the things
that were hardest for you to go through have been
the biggest blessings are in disguise now what if you can bring that awareness to
your current situation right now what if you could look at that and realize this
too is a gift this too will make me stronger and find the ability to think
and accept that exactly what is occurring in your life gets you back
into that state of well-being and then from there you’ll notice how much easier

chet chat there are two kinds of stress one is use stress or good stress this gives us an extra
a burst of energy and focus when we are playing a competitive sport or giving a presentation and two
the second is distress or bad stress this is the continuous stress which makes us feel burdened
how stress affects the brain now you’ve perhaps been stressed for the past few months thinking
about your future or even your family’s health, this emotion of stress activates the hypothalamus
pituitary-adrenal axis the hpa axis the hypothalamus via the pituitary glands activate the
adrenal glands which are situated atop the kidneys in response the adrenal glands secrete a hormone
called cortisol the stress hormone the body thinks of this as a warning sign as though we’re about to
get eaten up by a bear the cortisol first raises the activity level in the amygdala the fear center
of the brain this gives rise to feelings of anger this is the reason why we tend to lash out when we

so stressed I can’t think straight while the amygdala is working overtime cortisol travels
to its next destination the pre-frontal cortex located at the front of our head’s prefrontal
cortex is the thinking and planning part of the brain excess cortisol sustained for long periods
of time causes this region to shrink thereby blurring our rational thinking now another thing
What happens when we are very worked up that we can’t seem to remember where we’ve kept our phone
or our keys even if it’s right in front of us let’s see why that happens the cortisol now
reaches the hippocampus the memory center of our brain excess cortisol lowers the production
of brain cells in this region that is why we tend to forget everything we’ve studied if
we feel very stressed out during an exam now where is this cortisol reached in his
journey to the very cells of the brain too much stress will slow down your response
systems have as well seen someone looking very numb after they’ve encountered major stress but
the worst damage of stress is that over time it can change our cell structure right down to our
DNA shortens the telomeres the shoelace tips of chromosomes which measure a cell’s age do you
know the shorter the telomeres become the shorter their lifespan now not all stress is bad
remember we spoke about eustress or good stress and the experiment conducted by the University of
Wisconsin shows that moderate amounts of cortisol can improve memory while no stress which is
zero milligrams of cortisol or too much stress which is about 40 milligrams of cortisol will
not help you remember what you’ve studied or where you’ve kept your phone but just the right
amount of stress about 20 milligrams of cortisol will help you remember faster so be alert but

starts going through our lungs to get oxygenated which means we start panting and getting

by accumulating a sticky substance called plaque which in turn attracts cholesterol and fats extra

has to work doubly hard to push blood through them and all these blocked arteries could lead
to heart attacks did you know that over 60 patients suffering from irritable bowel syndrome
have psychiatric disorders and chronic anxiety another thing you might have noticed people tend

cortisol increases our appetite and signals the body to consume more energy-rich food like carbs

in our body stress causes us to breathe faster so we are forcing our body to slow down and do some
reps to de-stress exercise also reduces the levels of the body’s stress hormones adrenaline and

eyes to find a spot to fixate on and do not look away in a moment as I count
down from ten you will slowly blink your eyes with each number I say when I reach
zero allow your eyes to close and remain that way for the rest of the recording
ten blink your eyes nine blink eight seven six five four three two one and
zero lay your eyes closed feel a gentle wave of relaxation sweep over your
entire body good now allow your focus to become
centered on your breath when you think about your breathing you usually take a
big deep breath in filling your body with oxygen as you take another full breath in
notice how your body expands when you exhale pay close attention to how your
body contracts on the next breath in imagine that the oxygen is filled with a
calming effect and as you exhale feel tension in the body relax and melt away inhale serenity exhale any stress now bring your hands up to the very
center of your chest and lay them on top of one another breathe in slowly and deeply and strain
your spine making your head aligned with your body when you exhale imagine there is a
special point of contact the size of a golf ball in the very middle of your
chest slowly apply some pressure to the center
point of your chest if you notice any worrisome thoughts pop
into your mind be aware of them and acknowledge them then take a nice full
breath in focusing on how breathing deeply feels notice how the stress is intertwined
with the tension and connected to restricted breathing breathing in now
feeling your body expanding breathe out applying this comforting pressure feel
the worries rise and then drift away breathe in and say I acknowledge that I
feel anxious it's just a passing moment the more I try to hide my stress the
more it causes tension lay your breath flow naturally now and
just watch it what does your breath want to do and how is it behaving if you notice your breath becomes
stagnant or restricted inhale very slowly and fully and say to yourself I
let this go as you exhale nice now one more big deep breath in let
go of the pressure but keep your hands here on your chest imagine that you are
breathing in the power of relaxation and exhale feeling this heart point which
naturally releases anxiety from deep within you repeat this one more time
keeping your spine aligned inhale lifeforce exhale and release wonderful let your hands fall back down
by your sides and become aware of your hands can you feel a gentle tingling
sensation or a slight warmth beginning to grow in your hands noticing these sensations relaxes you making you feel cozy and safe can you allow this relaxing warmth to
increase feel the tingling sensation grow and expand Oh now notice how those same sensations are
in your feet let the warmth grow and expand do you have any anxieties right now I
bet not you are so focused on this beautiful sensation that your mind
cannot worry or stress you I'm going to count down once more but
this time I want you to imagine that you are walking down a beautiful flight of
stairs these are the stairs of relaxation with each number I say you
become more and more relaxed with each step you take ten stepping off the first
step feeling that lovely wave of relaxation 9 allowing your level of
relaxation to double 8 feeling safe and secure 7 comfortable and cozy 6
you have nowhere to be right now except your bed five more and more deeply
relaxed for each step feels like a long relaxing bath three each step takes you
further in to tranquility two one and zero you are more relaxed than you
have ever been how you feel right now is your natural
resting state that you should always return to automatically if you find
yourself being carried away by the worries of life remember to acknowledge
your true feelings and then breathe deeply into the anxieties melting them
away the pressure point on your chest is referred to as CV 17 in acupuncture but
also called The Sea of Tranquility it got this name simply because of how much
bliss a person can experience after having this release in their body and
mind so the next time you find yourself anxious or stressed
