Earlier this evening I was visiting a piano concert where a young pianist very seriously and passionately played pieces by Rachmaninov, Beethoven and some other crazy classical guys. Almost too much input for my simple mind to comprehend. But I watched her, thought about how I’d try to form the piano sound differently, well, more gentle, while clear in its message, and watched also her serious facial expression, totally focused on the keys. I guess that’s why I look a little more serious this time, too.Also this weekend, I learned that our planet is heading towards a serious illness! I feel this sometimes myself, when being out there capturing nature scenes for my ambient tunes series. But this weekend I read a few speeches of this tough gal Greta Thunberg, followed by the first pages of ‘The Green New Deal’ by Jeremy Rifkin. This is just about the climate change and how our planet is going to collapse soon when we don’t find a way to elevate our species to something even more beautiful very soon. It triggered a general sentiment in myself about what else we could do so much better here and now.Also a family member of mine is having a hard time right now. He behaves crazy, at the brink of surviving, and maybe it sounds crazy, but I believe more and more that he’s just a mirror of our society. A living mirror. He wants to live. But he’s born with the duty to show us something. While there’s much good stuff and lots of partying going on, there’s also much s***t happening, we behave quite s***ty as a species when you look at the whole picture, and he simply decides to give his life and love to mirror our society’s shortcomings his way. John, you are right. Don’t give up yet. Humans are God made. We can be(come) anything. We will become smarter, more loving and more fair with each other.Anyway, with all that in mind, that’s why I played how I played this night I guess. This one is your you.
