6 Signs and Symptoms Of ADHD

 – [Amanda] As a quick disclaimer, this video is made for educational purposes only. And if you have further questions or concerns about ADHD, please consult with your doctor first. With that said, let’s start. I’m sure you’ve heard of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD before. It’s a neurodevelopmental disorder marked by an ongoing pattern of inattention or hyperactivity that interferes with your functioning and development. Though ADHD is most commonly diagnosed in childhood, it can also affect adults. Unfortunately, there’s a significant lack of research into adults with ADHD. Many scientists believe that since ADHD is a developmental disorder, it can not develop in adults without demonstrating any signs during their early childhood. But, signs and symptoms of ADHD often persist into adolescence and adulthood. According to the NHS, by age 25, 15% of those diagnosed will still present symptoms. Of those diagnosed, 65% will have symptoms that affect their lives. Here are six signs and symptoms of ADHD to look out for it if you think it’s affecting your life or the life of someone you know. Number one is inattentiveness. One of the hallmark signs of ADHD is inattentiveness. It goes beyond simply not being able to pay attention. It can also look like the inability to focus on a task, finding it hard to pay attention to others, or overlooking details. Know these symptoms can also be caused by stress. Pay special attention if you find your focus shifting often. Number two, hyperfocus. On the opposite side of the spectrum, you can also experience hyperfocus with ADHD. Hyperfocus can cause a person with ADHD to become so engrossed in a task that they forget about everything else going on around them. It’s important to differentiate between hyperfocus versus when you’re in a state of flow. Flow emerges from a state of deep concentration or engagement in something, and being in flow produces a positive feeling, like a sense of accomplishment. Hyperfocus, on the other hand, is a result of an inability to regulate your attention span. With hyperfocus, you can’t always choose what you focus on. You might be doing something important like homework or hyper-focused on scrolling endlessly through Kylie Jenner’s Instagram Feed. Hyperfocus can lead to setbacks in your relationships with friends or partners, or hurdles at work and school. To help with this, you could prioritize your tasks and accomplish them one by one, or ask your family and friends to text you at specific times to help you shift your focus onto more important tasks. Number three is impulsivity. Do you speak out of turn, or do you regularly get yourself into socially inappropriate situations? Do you rush through tasks? And these all are signs of impulsivity in ADHD. It runs a lot deeper than just making split-second decisions. ADHD impulsivity can disrupt your life, and can potentially get you in trouble.  You might others during conversations, making them less inclined to talk to you again, or you can act without much or any consideration of the possible consequences, and this can land you in hot water. Number four is disorganization. We all have hectic lives, but for someone with ADHD, things may feel a bit more chaotic than usual. If you have ADHD, you may have trouble establishing order in your life, and it can be difficult to keep everything in the right place. And adults with ADHD may struggle with these organizational skills. This can include, problems keeping track of tasks, and trouble logically prioritizing them. Number five is mood swings. Because this symptom is present in many other disorders, it’s not an inherent sign of ADHD, but if you’re someone with ADHD you may experience mood swings or irritability. There may be days you feel good and grounded, and other days when you’re in the emotional gutter. You can try writing your emotions down, which can help you keep track of your emotional patterns, and prepare you for the next mood swing. Setting a schedule will help you establish a routine and avoid the possible stress from disorganization. And number six, lack of motivation. Does it seem like you’re doing everything at once, but feel unmotivated to go about your tasks? Lack of motivation is a common symptom of ADHD. A lack of motivation combined with other symptoms like poor organizational skills is problematic when it comes to accomplishing tasks or being engaged at work. There are many ways to help fight a lack of motivation, though. For example, you could break down your chores into manageable tasks, or write down the positive feelings you’re experiencing throughout the day. These techniques can help you find the motivation to finish your tasks. Searching for a Sign of Anxiety Attacks

Searching for a sign of anxiety attacks is kind of looking for a needle in a haystack. The thing it is not quite as concrete. At least with the needle, once you’ve found it you know that it’s a needle; it feels like a needle, it looks like a needle, and it likely is a needle. An anxiety attack could just as likely be a symptom of a great misdiagnosed problem as it could be a sign of anxiety attacks. Seeking good professional help is the most important key to solving this mystery.Fear is your body’s natural reaction to a lot of outside stimuli. It is normal for the body to react in such a way as to become anxious or fearful because this often protected our ancestors from a lot of problems and harm. It is not normal, however, for our bodies to be overtaken with fear to the point that physical symptoms begin to arise because of it. When this happens, it is usually a sign of a larger problem. There are many common types of anxiety: fear, panic, worry, dread, obsession, and compulsion are just a few. Anxiety comes in a variety of forms and is not only represented by fear. It is also quite common. Most people experience anxiety in some form, experiencing it before or after stressful situations like a traumatic event or an important meeting with the boss of your company. Other times the anxiety comes quickly and without warning and for no reason at all.Anxiety can affect your RelationshipsAn anxiety disorder is a more disabling feeling of anxiety that is constant and consuming. Anxiety disorder causes people to completely withdraw emotionally and often physically from their family and friends. It can cause people to withdraw indoors and avoid social activities for reasons involving fear. An anxiety attack, conversely, is an unexpected episode that usually involves fear as opposed to an overwhelming feeling.A sign of anxiety attacks can be anything from irregular heartbeats to chest pain. They also include: shaking, twitching, trembling, hot flashes, chills, “rubber legs”, tingling in extremities, difficulty sleeping, unpredictable sleeping patterns, body tension, aches and pains, sweating, clamminess, and stomach problems such as nausea or “butterflies”.There are also emotional signs including fearfulness, a feeling of terror, insecurity, incredible self-consciousness, irritability, apprehension, dread, a desire to escape, a feeling you are going to perish, and other frightening emotions. These emotions are sometimes very hard to deal with. It is always recommended that you discuss your findings and experience with your doctor. Your doctor can direct you in the right direction for getting help and ending your anxiety.Feel free to visit some of my sites Stop Anxiety Attacks and Stop Anxiety Now

Stop Anxiety Attacks – Review

Some people don’t even realize that they are having anxiety attacks until they know what the definition of one is. An anxiety attack is a strong sensation that creates fear in oneself, as the symptoms can seem like you are actually dying. If you are someone who suffers from these kinds of attacks, it is important to know as much as you can about them to help control them. Thus the more you learn and know the quicker you can begin to control your anxiety attacks. The cause of anxiety attacks can vary from person to person. They may be caused by an upsetting event in someone’s life or a fear of something they have experienced growing up. Stress is a big contributor to anxiety attacks, but the possibilities are truly endless. Medication is a known trigger of an anxiety attack, and being less than active is known to be a contributor as well. In reality, there is not a particular known reason for people who experience these attacks, they are in short a body’s way of dealing with an overwhelming feeling in one way or another. One of the main symptoms of anxiety attacks is extreme fear. Now, fear may be acknowledged as a symptom of anxiety, but in reality, it is just the end result of the real symptoms. Before fear sets in, you are likely to experience one or more symptoms of anxiety, which lead you to fear. Chest pain due to a racing heart, shortness of breath, and dizziness are all symptoms you may experience before the fear sets in. In the end, any uncomfortable sensation that is realized which makes you become fearful for your life is considered a symptom of anxiety, and therefore should be treated as such until you can confirm your suspicions.Because so many symptoms that are realized during an anxiety attack are similar if not exactly like those of some other kind of condition, it is almost impossible to determine if what you have been feeling is due to anxiety attacks, or another condition. This is why it’s important to see a doctor and explain your symptoms so that your physician can run the necessary tests in determining whether you have an underlying medical condition that needs to be dealt with or whether it is more than likely anxiety you are dealing with at which point you can work with your doctor in finding ways to control it.Once you and your doctor have worked together you can be on the way to resolving your trouble. If it is an anxiety attack there are many approaches you can take to help. Discuss your approach with your doctor. In many cases, awareness is the first step you can take to stop your anxiety. Check back, as I will be posting other articles on anxiety and will include some of my own experiences.I have posted a link at the top of my website for a book and audio clips that have helped many people to overcome their anxiety and stress. Counteract Anxiety Attacks

Sometimes life is hard and can cause you to feel out of control. Does anyone know what I’m talking about? Things are going well for a while and then it seems like out of nowhere comes something hard and unexpected that throws you into an anxiety attack. I have had this experience all too many times in my adult life, but it wasn’t until recently that I began to be aware of the symptoms before they hit so that I could counteract the anxiety attacks. Anxiety attacks are brought on by many different things and can affect people in vastly different ways. An event that may send someone into an anxiety attack may be handled with ease by another person. There is no telling what will or will not cause an anxiety attack to occur. We can, however, learn our bodies and responses so that we can be better prepared when anxiety attacks occur. For me, anxiety attacks seem the most likely when I am dealing with health issues with myself or my family. For some reason, I have always felt anxious about health-related issues and potential health problems in the people I care about most. My husband, on the other hand, takes health-related issues in stride yet finds himself dealing with anxiety attacks over financial issues that threaten our family. I am so thankful that while anxiety attacks are a normal part of life, not everyone deals with them the same or gets them at the same time. Can you even imagine a world like that? I have learned myself pretty well over the years so now I know how to counteract anxiety attacks. The biggest thing that I need to do is to get away and get alone. This could mean walking into another room or getting outside for a walk or run. I know that my anxiety attacks are made worse when I am forced to deal with them in front of people. Another key for me in counteracting anxiety attacks is to get active. Taking time regularly to exercise is one of the best methods of stress control and hence anxiety attack prevention for me. The more active I am, the less the little things seem to stress me out. Figure out the things that cause anxiety attacks in you and look for good ways to counteract them. Your life will be a lot more manageable if you can learn to take things in stride and not let small things lead to big anxiety attacks. Talk with a doctor or a counselor for more advice.

‘Obamacare will make it easier’: Jennifer Hudson begins ACA sales pitch

http://twitter.com/#!/IAMJHUD/status/359816388505911296Much like the president’s post-election meetings with union bosses, progressive activists, MSNBC hosts and liberal bloggers, the gathering of President Obama’s Entertainment Advisory Council yesterday wasn’t exactly secret, but it was apparently left up to the participants to let it be known they attended. Singer Jason Derulo posted a photo of himself in front of the White House yesterday, and tonight, Grammy and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson casually mentioned just how great it was to see Obama yesterday. For legislation that reportedly amounts to a seven-foot-high stack of paper when printed, it didn’t take long for Obama to pass along his product to the middlemen on the committee. Why didn’t Obama himself just tell us how easy it would be to sign up?http://twitter.com/#!/timbrantjr/status/359825356892545025 http://twitter.com/#!/kfunk18/status/359836576630571008Read more: http://twitchy.com/2013/07/23/obamacare-will-make-it-easier-jennifer-hudson-begins-aca-sales-pitch/
