Although Prince had never acted in a movie, he wanted to jump into untested waters and make a BIG splash. Prince was to play the part of ’The Kid’, a talented, yet troubled singer growing up in a dysfunctional family, with a contemptuous relationship with his father who physically batters his mother.
’The Kid’ loses his love, played by Vanity 6 star Apollonia, to his rival, portrayed by Morris Day from Morris Day & The Time.
Purple Rain was conceived as a cinematic vehicle to showcase the brilliance of Prince- essentially breaking him into worldwide super stardom.
The film was to be directed by first time director Albert Magnoli.
Amazingly, Prior to Purple Rain, Magnoli only had one acclaimed short film to his credit that he shot as a film student. Magnoli & William Blinn took notes from Prince for several months to write the screenplay for Purple Rain.
Prince had finished what he thought was ALL the music that was needed for Purple Rain, but Magnoli surprised him with an urgent phone call asking Prince to compose one more song that would match an important montage in the movie that intersected the protagonist’s parental difficulties and a troubling love affair. We’ve talked the last few days about history being different depending on who’s eyes were seeing it through. One story is that Albert Magnoli request the song, another is suggested in the definitive book about this period, Diane Tudahl’s Prince and the Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions.
She talks about how Prince was nominated for several grammy awards in 1983 for 1999 and lost both to Michael Jackson Thriller and that Prince, potentially humbled by the loss, the next few days in that period of time, that Prince could possibly have been inspired to work on something more introspective and that might’ve been a catalyst to work on what many consider to be the most personal song of his career.
This was in early 1984.. So apparently, Prince quickly tapped into another dimension of creativity that few mortals had access to. As we all are aware, he was otherworldly. A genius on levels even geniuses marvel at…
Prince had remarkably finished two songs to present to Magnoli.
One of the songs was a track Prince was particularly proud of called “When Doves Cry. “When Doves Cry” is a metaphor for the disruption of the tranquility & harmony of love. A dove being a symbol of peace. When two people fight with each other, it disturbs that peace, and that is when doves cry- with a soft lamenting coo.

ক্ষুধা, তৃষ্ণাসহ অন্যান্য জৈবিক শারীরবৃত্তীয় চাহিদাগুলোর মতো যৌন চাহিদাও আমাদের জীবনে স্বাভাবিক। প্রতিটি প্রাণীর মধ্যেও যৌন চাহিদা বিদ্যমান। মানব জাতির অস্তিত্ব তথা বংশপরম্পরায় ধারা টিকিয়ে রাখার জন্য গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করে আমাদের যৌন চাহিদা।
আমাদের মধ্যে সাধারণত ২ কারণে যৌন সমস্যা দেখা দিতে পারে-
১। প্রাইমারি সেক্সুয়াল: এটা শারীরিক বা মেডিকেল সমস্যার কারণে হয়ে থাকে। ফলে ডাক্তারের শরণাপন্ন হতে হয়। যেমন এসটিডি, এসটিআই ইত্যাদি।
২। সেকেন্ডারি সেক্সুয়াল: মানসিক কারণে এ সমস্যা হয়ে থাকে। বাংলাদেশে বেশিরভাগ যৌন সমস্যা হলো সেকেন্ডারি সেক্সুয়াল প্রবলেমন্স। মনোবিজ্ঞানের ভাষায় এটাকে মনোযৌন সমস্যা বলা হয়। আর এটার অন্যতম কারণ হলো যৌনতা সম্পর্কে কুসংস্কার।
পুরুষদের মনোযৌন সমস্যাগুলো এবং যৌনতা নিয়ে কিছু ভুল ধারণা আলোচনা করব। পরবর্তী লেখায় নারীদের মনোযৌন সমস্যা নিয়ে আলোচনা করা হবে।
পুরুষদের মনৌযৌন সমস্যাগুলো-
১। যৌন আকাঙ্ক্ষার অভাব: পুরুষদের মধ্যে যৌন উত্তেজনা আসে এবং যৌন সুখ লাভ করেন কিন্তু তাদের যৌন কাজের প্রতি আগ্রহ তীব্রভাবে কমে যায়। নিজের মধ্যে যৌন আগ্রহ কমে যাওয়ার কারণে সঙ্গীর সবধরনের যৌন আবেদন বা আচরণ তীব্রভাবে প্রত্যাখ্যান করে এবং পুরুষ নিজ উদ্যোগী হয়ে কখনও সঙ্গীর সঙ্গে যৌ ন তা য় লিপ্ত হয় না।
কিছু কিছু পুরুষ সঙ্গীর সঙ্গে যৌ ন তা য় আগ্রহ না পেলেও হস্তমৈথুন করে যৌন সুখানুভূতি লাভ করে। অনেক নারী অভিযোগ করে থাকেন যে তাদের স্বামী তাদের সঙ্গে যৌন মিলন না করলেও তাদের সামনেই হস্তমৈথুন করে।
২. ইরেক্টাইল ডিসফাংশন: সঙ্গীর সঙ্গে যৌন সহবাস করার জন্য বা যোনিপথে লিঙ্গ প্রবেশ করানোর জন্য লিঙ্গ প্রয়োজনীয় পরিমাণ শক্ত হয় না। আদর করার পরও তাদের লিঙ্গ শক্ত হয় না, অথবা হলেও যোনিতে লিঙ্গ প্রবেশ করানোর সময় লিঙ্গটা নিস্তেজ হয়ে পড়ে। এতে করে লিঙ্গ যোনিতে ঢোকে না। অথবা ঢোকাতে পারলেও বীর্য বের হওয়ার আগেই লিঙ্গ নিস্তেজ হয়ে যায়। ফলাফল, সঙ্গীকে চূড়ান্ত যৌন সুখ দিতে পারে না। ৭-১৮ শতাংশ পুরুষদের মধ্যে জীবনে কোনো না কোন সময়ে এ সমস্যা দেখা দিতে পারে। এটাকেই মূলত পুরুষত্বহীনতা বলা হয়।
৩। দ্রুত বীর্যপাত: মাস্টার অ্যান্ড জনশন, সেক্স থেরাপিস্ট (১৯৭১) এর মতে, পুরুষদের মধ্যে এটা খুবই কমন সমস্যা। এখানে যৌন আদরের কারণে পুরুষদের লিঙ্গ উত্থিত হয় কিন্তু যৌন সহবাসের নিমিত্তে নারীর যোনিপথে লিঙ্গ প্রবেশ করানোর পরপরই বীর্য বের হয়ে যায়। সময়ের হিসেবে বললে ১ মিনিটের ও কম সময়ের মধ্যে অর্গাজম হয়ে যায়। এ রকম দ্রুত বীর্যপাত নারী এবং পুরুষ দু’জনের জন্যই চরম লজ্জাকর ও হতাশাজনক হতে পারে। ৩০-৪০ শতাংশ পুরুষের জীবনের কোনো না কোনো সময়ে এ সমস্যা হতে পারে। কারো মধ্যে এ সমস্যাটা ৬ মাস ধরে থাকলে চিকিৎসা মনোবিজ্ঞানীদের শরণাপণ্ন হওয়া দরকার।
৪. বিলম্বিত বীর্যপাত: এটা পুরুষের এমন একটি সমস্যা যেখানে দীর্ঘক্ষণ যৌনসঙ্গম করার ফলেও বীর্যপাত করতে পারে না বা বীর্যপাত হয় না। এমনকি ২৫/৩০ মিনিট পরেও বীর্যপাত হয় না। এতে করে পুরুষ কখনও ক্লাইমেক্স বা চরমপুলক লাভ করে না। ওদিকে সঙ্গীর অর্গাজম হয়ে যায় (শারীরিক স্বাভাবিক অবস্থা)। কিন্তু পুরুষের বীর্যপাত না হওয়ায় বা খুবই দেরিতে হওয়ার কারণে নারী সঙ্গীর অবস্থা তখন ভয়াবহ হয়ে যায়।
৫। যৌন বিতৃষ্ণা: এখানে পুরুষের মধ্যে যৌন কাজের প্রতি মারাত্মক অনীহা চলে আসে। যৌন কাজের বা যৌন সঙ্গমের প্রতি অনীহা ঘৃণা, অপমান, লজ্জা এবং আত্মসম্মানের সঙ্গে জড়িত থাকে। এ বিতৃষ্ণা বা অনীহা যে কোনো স্পেসিফিক কাজ যেমন ওরাল সেক্স অথবা যৌনিতে লিঙ্গ ঢুকানো নিয়ে হতে পারে, এটা হতে পারে বীর্যের গন্ধ, চুমু দেয়ার সময় লালার গন্ধের প্রতি। এটা হতে পারে সঙ্গীর যৌন অঙ্গ যেমন স্তন বা যোনির প্রতি। এটা হতে পারে যৌন সঙ্গম করার সময় সঙ্গীর বিভিন্ন শব্দের প্রতি।
যৌন বিরাগ পুরো যৌন কাজের প্রতিও হতে পারে। আবার হতে পারে নির্দিষ্ট একটা কাজের প্রতি। যেমন কোনো পুরুষ হয়তোবা শুধু যৌন স ঙ্গ ম করতে পছন্দ করে, কিন্তু যৌন আদর যেমন- চুমু দেয়া, স্ত ন ঘর্ষণ করা, যোনিতে চুমু দেয়া ইত্যাদি পছন্দ করে না।
কোনো পুরুষের মধ্যে এ সমস্যা থাকলে সেটা তাদের সঙ্গীর সঙ্গে বৈবাহিক সম্পর্কটা খারাপ করে দিতে পারে। তাদের ভালো যৌন সম্পর্ক হয়ে উঠে না। সম্পর্কটা তখন একটা অভ্যাসে পরিণত হয়। এ অবস্থা যদি কারও মধ্যে ৬ মাস চলতে থাকে এবং এজন্য যদি তাদের বৈবাহিক সম্পর্কে মারাত্মক নেতিবাচক প্রভাব পেলে তাহলে এটা যৌন বিপর্যয় ডিসঅর্ডার।
চিকিৎসা: আমাদের দেশে যেহেতু যৌন সমস্যা বা রোগ নিয়ে খোলামেলা আলোচনা হয় না, তাই অনেকেই অপচিকিৎসার ফাঁদে পড়ে। বাংলাদেশের হার্বাল কোম্পানিগুলোর লোভনীয় ও আকর্ষণীয় বিজ্ঞাপন, ২৪ ঘণ্টায় সমাধানের নিশ্চয়তা প্রদানের লোভে অনেকেই প্রতারিত হন। অনেকেই পাশের ফার্মেসির বন্ধু থেকে ওষুধ নিয়ে সেবন করেন। এসব হার্বাল বা ওষুধ প্রাথমিকভাবে একটু সন্তোষজনক ফলাফল দিলেও দীর্ঘমেয়াদি নেতিবাচক প্রভাব অনেক।
বলা হয়ে থাকে স্বামী-স্ত্রীর মাঝে যতই সমস্যা থাকুক, মতের অমিল থাকুক, চাওয়া পাওয়া না মিলুক, কিন্তু দিন শেষে তাদের মধ্যে চমৎকার একটা রোমান্টিক যৌন-সম্পর্ক বাকি সব সমস্যাকে গৌণ করে দিতে পারে। যৌন সম্পর্ক শুধুই শারীরিক নয়, মানসিকও। তাই আপনাদের মধ্যে কারও যৌন সমস্যা থাকলে চিকিৎসা মনোবিজ্ঞানীর সহযোগিতা নিন, যৌন জীবন উপভোগ করুন। যৌন অক্ষমতা কিভাবে দূর করবেন?
