Anxiety Attacks

It’s easy to feel that anxiety attacks are freakish, illogical outbursts with no place in a sane life. But given the state of the world, and all the many properly worrying things in it, might they not, in fact, be difficult but logical markers of the utmost sanity? Suddenly, the insanity strikes you. You’ll be in a highly explosive sealed aluminum tube, breathing recycled kerosene-infused air, for the next six-and-a-half hours, with no way of getting off or out. The pilot may be exhausted or inwardly distressed. Air traffic control at any of the 40 waymarks along the journey may get momentarily distracted. You’ll be streaming 5 miles above the surface of the planet. No one else seems remotely sensitive to what any of this implies – they’re chatting and reading magazines – but for you, it’s the beginning of a kind of hell. You are on the verge of giving way to what we currently know as a panic attack…”You can read more on this and other subjects on our blog, here: https://goo.gl/dd1dCYMORE SCHOOL OF LIFEOur website has classes, articles and products to help you think and grow: https://goo.gl/N7NYmSWatch more films on SELF in our playlist: http://bit.ly/TSOLselfYou can submit translations and transcripts on all of our videos here: https://www.youtube.com/timedtext_cs_panel?c=UC7IcJI8PUf5Z3zKxnZvTBog&tab=2 Find out how more here: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6054623?hl=en-GBSOCIAL MEDIAFeel free to follow us at the links below:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/theschooloflifelondon/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheSchoolOfLife Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theschooloflifelondon/CREDITSProduced in collaboration with: Dave Andersonhttp://bloodsausage.co.uk/animation/ #TheSchoolOfLife

My Bullying Story

https://youtube.com/watch?v=IwRyMV7Rk-Y

Bullying was something I dealt pretty severly with from the time I was 6 basically all the way through high school. I know how harmful and hurtful it can be so I thought I would share my story and experience with it with you guys. I know a lot of you are probably either already back in school or going back to school so I hope if you are experiencing anything similar, that this can help at all or at least let you know you aren’t alone. If anyone is feeling overwhelmed with going back to school and needing support for for any issues such as bullying, cyberbullying, anxiety, mental health or depression, these links and resources may help: https://www.cybersmile.org/advice-help Crisis Textline – Text 741741 Suicide Prevention Hotline – Call 1-800-273-8255SUBSCRIBE for new videos! http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=eugeniacooneyMY SOCIAL MEDIA:Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/eugeniacooney Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/Eugenia_Cooney Snapchat: eugeniac Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/eugeniacooneyy Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/eugeniacooney Discord: https://discord.gg/eugeniacooneyEmail: eugeniascooney@gmail.comMusic is About You by NoCopyrightSounds:

David Emme, who was severely brain-injured by an improvised explosive device (IED) as part of a convoy transporting Iraqi volunteers for military training. Sgt. Emme was one of 450 service members treated at Walter Reed from 2003 to 2005 for traumatic brain injury (TBI). More than 30,000 service members suffer from TBI, with an estimated economic cost of $76.5 billion.Kansas City Chiefs player Javon Belcher shot and killed his girlfriend before killing himself on December 1, 2012. CNN reported that pathology reports found Belcher suffered from brain disease known as chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). CTE was found in the brains of 87 of 91 deceased NFL players who donated their bodies for research, according to a study released on September 18, 2015. As explained by Dr. Ann McKee, one of the doctors involved in the study, this is not a matter of sensationalizing an issue to create controversy for football fans or the NFL, “this is a very real disease.”Evidence of CTE has been found in the brains of veterans, just as it has been found in NFL players. The Veterans Clinic at the University of Missouri School of Law is pleased to present its second annual symposium focusing on the legal and practical issues arising from traumatic brain injury, a very real concern for athletes and our military.Copyright Information: http://www.missouri.edu/copyright.php© 2015 – Curators of the University of Missouri

Stress Response: Savior to Killer

As we’ve evolved, the human stress response has saved our lives. Today, we turn on the same life-saving physical reaction to cope with intense, ongoing stressors – and we can’t seem to turn it off.
