The worst thing that you can do as a diver is underestimate the power of the ocean. While the waters can be calm a lot of the time, all of that can change in an instant and that’s usually where you run into trouble. That’s just the situation John Hoover found himself in while exploring the waters near the North Shore of Maui, Hawaii.

Luckily, Hoover survived his brush with the power of the ocean. Still though, in the moment that must have been insanely terrifying.

When you’re out mowing your lawn, the last thing you might expect is for the ground to open up and swallow you whole. But that’s what almost happened to Emma James back in November.
The 45-year-old British woman first noticed an odd dip in her lawn a few months ago, but since then, it’s grown into a full-fledged hole that’s two feet by two feet…

Hopefully it doesn’t turn out to be some sort of demonic portal to the other side…

Well, that’s terrifying. I think I would try to move out if I found something like that in my front yard. Yikes.

The phenomenon known as “sky trumpets” has been around for a quite a while now. If you’re not familiar with it, it comes about when trumpet-like noises emanate from the sky in every direction. All of this sounds like something from a bad sci-fi movie, but this weirdness happens around the world. There are plenty of videos to prove it.
The latest video comes to us from Istanbul, Turkey. Residents there experienced the phenomenon from the early hours of December 30 until the following day.

According to those who have studied sky trumpets, it’s possible that the noises are the result of Earth’s natural radio transmissions. Still, that’s not very comforting when the world is screaming all around you.

Earlier this week, tourists spotted not just one, but three waterspouts forming simultaneously on the surface of the lake.
Back in 2014, onlookers saw nine simultaneous waterspouts spring up on a particularly stormy day. That’s pure nightmare fuel, folks.

Are you paranoid about making sure that your windows and doors are securely locked at all times to prevent unwelcome strangers? Well, if you’re not already, you will be after you watch this video. It’s from a surveillance camera inside the Chicago home of Jordan Buranskas and her boyfriend, Jack Mackercher.
The footage shows a creepy man in a white hoodie standing at the top of the stairs, watching the couple while they slept on the couch. To say it’s unsettling would be an understatement.
(via Elite Daily)
The scariest part is that they only noticed this guy while reviewing the footage trying to figure out where Jordan’s purse went (which he did, in fact, steal). If he hadn’t taken anything, they would never have known that he was there.
