This book is a comprehensive guide to pediatric dental fear/anxiety (DFA) and phobia that will provide practitioners with a full understanding of the etiology, prevalence, assessment, and management of these conditions. The coping styles of children when under stress are explored, with the discussion of their relevance to the assessment visit and treatment allocation. Practical treatment techniques are comprehensively covered, from non-pharmacological behavioral strategies relevant for children with no or mild DFA to those approaches more appropriate for children with severe DFA/phobia. The importance of the use of language and communication skills to build rapport and allay anxiety is explored. Relaxation and hypnosis techniques are described, with guidance on how to introduce these to patients and their parents/carers. Techniques that help children cope when receiving injections are detailed, including systematic needle desensitization; these provide practitioners with options to help resolve DFA and phobia regarding needles. Intravenous sedation, including the challenge of cannulation, is covered comprehensively. Furthermore, cognitive behavioral therapy is presented, with suggestions of practical self-help material when appropriate. The closing chapter looks to the future, discussing the barriers to and the changes required for the creation of more child-centered DFA services.
While the youth joyfully look forward to change, the aged fear and lament it – but why? Sadhguru explains, when you were young, you were seeking life, not comfort! Everything in the physical reality is constantly changing, so to resist change is to resist the whole process of life. #SadhguruOnLife#Sadhguru

Anxiety disorders can occur along with bipolar disorder and there is some overlap in the way anxiety and mania look that it’s not always clear which it is. Why does this matter? Because one of the ways people can remain stable with bipolar disorder is to recognize early signs of either depression or mania so that you can intervene early to prevent the episode from blossoming. If a manic episode is coming, that intervention is most likely adjusting your mood stabilizer. But you don’t want to do that if it’s anxiety. Here’s are the symptoms that look similar with anxiety and mania.
Racing thoughts
Concentration problems
Mood irritability
Inability to sleep
Restlessness or agitationAnxiety is a feeling of uneasiness, fear or dread. It can have physical manifestations, but it starts with a feeling. Mania is state of hyperarousal, like having an internal motor where the dial has been turned up.So in some ways, anxiety and mania can be thought of as behaving in opposite directions. Even though they share some characteristics, with anxiety the feelings converge upon you and affect you physically and with mania your physical state explodes your feelings.References

http://beatinganxiety.org/adviceIf you’re unsure about exactly what an anxiety attack is then you should watch this short but information video that answers the simple question ‘what is an anxiety attack?’ and well as ‘what causes an anxiety attack?’.Basically an anxiety attack is the brains way of handing a stressful situation and it involves both physical and psychological symptoms and depending on when these attacks happen they can often lead to other problems such as additional anxiety, phobias and triggers.Sometimes anxiety attacks are referred to as ‘panic attacks’ however there are other types of attacks that exist too.Attacks usually start when a person feels nauseous our anxious and anxiety attacks are caused most often by a certain ‘trigger’ which varies from individual to individual.Triggers could range from anything from being around spiders, being confined into a small room or space or a wide array of other things. The key to getting through and minimizing the effects of an anxiety attack is to be able to recognize the triggers which can be done with the help of trained psychologists who will guide affected individuals through a process that will allow them to recognize and deal with their anxiety triggers.Attacks can severely impact how a person lives their lives and the earlier a person seeks treatment the faster they will be able to get back to a normal and fulfilling life.
