Absinthe, Thujone, & Artemisia absinthium: What You Need To Know

Absinthe is an alcoholic drink that contains substances from Artemisia absinthium (wormwood). The drink has a long history of use and is often said to differ from ethanol in terms of its effects. However, there is little evidence for those differences. The drink, like wormwood, usually contains alpha-Thujone. That drug could be psychoactive, but it’s primarily known as a convulsant. Under current regulations in the EU and US, thujone isn’t present at concentrations that would be dangerous. Research suggests old Absinthe preparations also lacked significant concentrations of the substance.Overview Page (Including References): http://thedrugclassroom.com/video/absinthe-artemisia-absinthium-thujone/Reddit discussion: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheDrugClassroom/comments/5c8bym/absinthe_thujone_artemisia_absinthium/Absinthe = Green Fairy; La Fée VerteArtemisia absinthium = Absinthium; Absinthe wormwood; Wormwood; Absinthealpha-Thujone = Thujone; (-)-alpha-thujone; Alpha-(-)-Thujone; Thujon; L-Thujone; a-Thujone ————Donate to The Drug Classroom:https://www.patreon.com/TheDrugClassroomhttps://www.paypal.me/TheDrugClassroomBitcoin: 1HsjCYpBHKcVCaW4uKBraCGkc1LK8xoj1B————Thank you to my Patreon supporters: Glen Marshall, Jonathon Dunn, Thomas Anaya, Ross Martin, Star Ape, and David Kernell.————Facebook – http://facebook.com/thedrugclassroom Twitter – http://twitter.com/drugclassroom————The Drug Classroom (TDC) is dedicated to providing the type of drug education everyone should have.
