Progressive relaxation, also called progressive muscle relaxation, is a deep relaxation technique that progressively releases the tension you’re holding in your body. You can start at your scalp or forehead, move to your face (eyes, cheeks and jaw), then down to your neck and shoulders, then your arms and hands, followed by your back, hips and buttocks, then your legs and finally your feet. This way your full body will relax instantly as you move along this process. To take these exercise to next level (Optional steps though), try and visualize each muscle group and visualize tension releasing from your whole body.This music will act as an anchor cue so next time when you listen to this music your body will immediately go into deep relaxation without you even practising progressive relaxation technique.
