The Silver Trumpets Proclaim the Finished Work of Christ

God has always had and will always have a remnant faithful to Him. They may not understand perfectly. They may not know everything because there are, there are people, it says here there are people that when they heard, they cried. Some people didn’t understand, but they still gathered. You know, I’d even say to some of my listeners, so people say, “I don’t understand everything you’re saying.” Then you were part of the people who were gathered on Ezra and Nehemiah’s day who gathered, and they didn’t understand. You part of the people who gather all the time until God gives what I call the Holy Spirit understanding. The lights are turned on and suddenly all the pieces that you couldn’t put together all come together and make sense. So don’t give up. ♪ ♪ Today we’re going to be looking at the theme of trumpets, which occupied a conspicuous part of the ceremonies prescribed by God. The first real description that you get of the trumpets is in Numbers 10. So, if you want to turn there, and you will hear me say this again later, we must understand the difference between silver trumpets made of one piece, which I’ll read in a second, made of one piece of metal versus the shofar, a ram’s horn. And there’s a third term in the Hebrew language for horn. They all do different things. They’re not the same. You wouldn’t use the trumpet the same way you would use the shofar and vice versa. So, in Numbers 10, “Lord Spake unto Moses, saying, make these two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them,” so one, one piece, “thou mayest use them for calling the assembly,” that’s number one, “and for the journeying of the camps.” So, I’ll, I will go through this again because there are several itemized purposes for the trumpets. But here are two of them: calling the assembly, and when it was time to march and to move, you’d hear the trumpets sound. “And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee. When you blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward. When you blow an alarm the second time, the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys. But when the congregation is to be gathered, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm.” So, there were differences, whether it was a whole long sound or could have been short sounds broken up they had the distinction. So, you knew if you heard a particular sound, you knew what it meant. “The sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance forever throughout your generations.” Now remember I said to you, “An ordinance forever,” right when that’s said there, you’ve got to pay attention because anything that God says “forever,” “for your generations” tells us there is a future fulfillment to this. You always must look for that. So here “It is an ordinance forever throughout your generations. And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppressed you, then you shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered; ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies. Also, in the day of your gladness, and your solemn days, and the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: for I am the LORD your God.” So, it’s interesting here. The trumpets were made at God’s expressed and direct orders or command in the way they were to be made, in one piece. The purpose for which they were to be used, we have here several; the calling of an assembly, the journeying of the camp, the sounding of an alarm for warning, new moons, and festival occasions when they were to be sounded along with other offerings and sacrifices. So, the first day of the seventh month is called the “Feast of Trumpets,” the third in the solemn festival celebrated annually. Now in the nineteenth chapter of the book of Exodus, if you want to turn there, we can turn there and check out what I’m talking about. In the nineteenth chapter, we have the first mention of the trumpet to summon the children of Israel. And what is important is to realize that when God says, “Thus and so,” all right, there’s always a purpose. There’s nothing here that’s just in there randomly. “It came to pass in the third day in the morning, there were thunders and lightning, a thick cloud upon the mountain, the voice of the trumpet exceedingly loud, so that all the people in the camp trembled.” Now we have the summoning of the people. They’re all going to be gathered around to hear and to listen to what’s happening. So God appoints it as a sign that the people should approach the mount. I believe verse 13, right, says here, “When the trumpet sounded long, they shall come unto the mount.” And again in 9━19:19. “the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice.” So, it’s interesting. We have what I would call a very, very novel thing, the first time we’re encountering it here. And of course, at His voice, the sounding of the trumpet, and then His voice they either marched or halted. At His voice, they attacked their enemies. At His voice, they assembled themselves. But it was the sounding of the trumpet that began, “Here are the orders,” right? Or “Here’s what we’re doing,” by the sound of the trumpet, what sound it was. When the trumpet summoned them to a holy convocation in the wilderness, it was at one point the commemoration of them being gathered out of Egypt. And if you remember the last couple of set times, I’ve been talking about commemorating that. God says, “Don’t forget. I want you to remember.” It seems like this is always being brought up somewhere in what God is saying, “Don’t forget. Remember what I did.” So, it’s interesting, “Blow the trumpet in the new moon, and the appointed time, and our solemn feast days.” If the trumpet was likened to Him that spoke, God from heaven, in His voice, His call summons us today to trust Him. Why? Because the trumpets have in our time a symbol. The trumpet usually, if you see the trumpet, it’s a symbol of the gospel, the clarion call to all who will hear. And here’s the interesting thing, you know, if a trumpet blows and you don’t have a reaction, you either have no hearing or you have no hearing. No, I mean that. I’m not joking. You either have no hearing as the apparatus is not working or you’re spiritually dead; pick one, okay? Silver trumpets are always seen, as I said, as a gospel connection, trumpets, and the gospel of Jesus Christ. The command to make them came from God, so this is not some manmade thing. These are the other things we’re looking for. When we’re studying, we’re looking for where things come from. And if we can trace the origins back into this book, great, but if we can’t, and somebody says, “Well, that’s, that’s part of my faith.” Well, that’s good for you, but it doesn’t belong because it’s, it’s not coming from here. And if you say, “Well, that’s kind of a being a purist.” Yeah, I’m tired of people having put so much garbage into the church that they’re confused about why we’re here. We’re here to learn about God. We’re here to get to know God better in an intimate way that when we talk about trumpets, you don’t just envision that there’s a trumpet and Wah, Wah, or whatever’s going on, but you, you get the idea that God from the beginning was saying in the Old Testament, if you want to superimpose these words on top of what we’ve been studying, “This is My beloved Son in whom I’m well pleased and you don’t know Him yet, you haven’t seen Him yet, but He’s coming.” That’s all that is being said right here in the Old Testament because otherwise, it’s like, okay, I get the trumpet part because you’ve got to summon the people, but all these other things, why celebrate them in perpetuity? So, I think there’s a lot more here. The trumpets proclaim the finished work of Christ. He is our sacrifice. He is our offering. He did it all. And think of it this way, currently, we’re not yet in the book of Revelation with the seven trumpets, we’re not there yet, but even there, that’s, you see, that’s why I say to people, “Aw, it’s just a collection of stories.” Well, that’s interesting, I think, then John must have been very well, well, well, well, well versed on shadows and types because he’s talking about these seven trumpets that must be blown, each one of them, in connection to an event that will happen in the end times, which this is why it’s paramount you put all this together. God didn’t just produce what Paul didn’t produce, the sound or last trump. What do you think that means? Do you think that means that all these trumpets are sounded in the book of Revelation and then there’ll be a final one? Or in the order, because numbers are important, seven becomes the complete number. You’ll find that numbers are embedded in the Old Testament as well as in the New because that number has the symbol of something complete. That’s why people say, “Oh, we can’t know what’s going to happen.” Oh yes, we do. Now if you don’t want to believe it, that’s your problem and that’s okay. We’ll see who’s right when all the stuff starts hitting the fan. We’ll see, you know, when people say, “Well, how could so much of the earth, for example, be wiped out?” Well, you know, God can accomplish His purposes through a diversity of things. Remember sometimes to teach a lesson to the children of Israel, He used God’s enemies. He used the children of Israel’s enemies, brought in the Chaldeans, brought in the Assyrians, and brought in the Babylonians to teach them or to carry out His words. So, you don’t think for a minute that God can’t use current things happening now to bring on the annihilation of a third of the earth? You don’t think that He can do it that way? Because He can when we talk about vials being poured out. So, it’s important to put all this together, not read this as a fragmented book. It’s a whole story being unfolded for us and when you see the whole picture, I don’t know how you can just say, “Well, I only want to read that.” It doesn’t make sense to me, but that’s your prerogative. So, on the Feast of Trumpets, no servile work was to be done, but they were to offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord. This was to be a reminder of both the deliverance from Egypt’s bondage as well as their being separated apart to God for service. Remember what I told you and most of you old timers know this, “holiness: something that is set apart” That doesn’t mean, “Oh, I’m ho-o-o-wo-wo-wo” That’s not what that means. “Holiness” means you have been, from both the Hebrew and the Greek, you have been set apart. God said, “I want you and I’m going to take you and I’m going to use you. And you may not be a pastor, a priest, or minister; I’m going to use you for whatever I determine I’m going to use you for.” That’s holiness unto the Lord. That’s being set apart for Him. So, when I say that it’s important to understand that this feast is a reminder of that as well. So, from the captivity for us of the world, the flesh and the devil, the gospel delivers us. I’ve been mentioning this for weeks when people say, “Well, how do I relate to the children of Israel being delivered out of Egypt’s bondage?” Well, you were delivered out of the bondage of the world to be able to see things that the world cannot see, hear things the world cannot hear, bear things the world cannot bear. Do you realize that most Christians, most Christians, not all Christians, because some have not been taught, they’re Christian in name only, but we’re able, especially these days, to look at something, and I’m sorry to say it like this when you see devilish-looking men wearing makeup, dancing half-naked in front of children if you can’t tell me that that’s not demonic. Now, I don’t think you need to be a Christian to be able to identify that as demonic. That’s demonic. But there are, there are factions of people that stand and applaud and think it’s entertainment. So, tell me something, would you bring that same child into a strip club? That’s demonic, okay? So, we must put things in perspective, and as Christians, we’re able to do that based on what we stand on. I said that in my opening comments. So, Christ is the deliverer, not just for those who have been delivered, but He’s the deliverer to those who don’t yet know Him. It is interesting if you listen to some of these testimonies, I’m not a testimonial person, I’m not, but in the last week somebody sent me a whole bunch of links and one of them was Alice Cooper being interviewed. And he was, Greg Laurie was interviewing him, okay? But what was interesting is that Alice Cooper says, “Well, you know, I’m not Alice Cooper anymore.” But then he goes on to say, he was Alice Cooper for a reason, so he could understand now what he now knows, because he’s a Christian now, and he can see as plain as day. And in this interview, he says basically that God put him where he is, where he was so that he can talk to people that are not where he is since he’s, converted. And there were at least six other incredibly famous musicians, rockers, or others that were in this string of interviews. So, the key thing is a lot of times we forget, as God delivered us, as God delivered the children of Israel, God can deliver our country, can deliver all the lunacy and the insanity. He can. It’s going to take a whole bunch of praying and a whole bunch of people standing by the book and by the word of God to say, “He can, He does; nothing’s impossible.” And that was the mindset, by the way, at least initially the children of Israel. Now, of course, you know, subsequently they complained and they, they become a thorn in God’s side. Eventually, God just says, like, “I have had enough.” But the Deliverer, back to where I was, can deliver no matter who you are and where you’re at. That’s the key point here. Now, back to the trumpets, they were to be blown on the first day of every month, and this was the seventh month, the seventh time the trumpet would be sounded. So, as I said, number seven implies consummation, something complete or final, bringing us to the dispensation of the fullness of times, the times of restitution of all things spoken by the prophets since the beginning of time. In the book of Revelation, which I’ve been mentioning, we find this culmination of the ages, and it’s comprised of a book with seven seals. The events that will unfold around these seven seals are revealed by the sound of seven trumpets. Again, do you think that the sounding, the revelation of those seven, we’ll call them things to be made known, do you believe that they are part of the gospel, even though they are not positive in their carrying out? Because they are they are the final judgment and punishment upon the earth for all of those who would not look unto Him. So, that’s still part of the gospel. You could say, well, how could that be good news? Well, the good news is that God gets the victory. That’s the good news. But under these events, we have the restoration of Israel and the destruction of the apostate nations and peoples under all of this. You know, I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago, the image that is painted for us in the book of Revelation where we read about the, it’s the apostate church, the woman all decked out in purple. Now you tell me again, it’s rhetorical, you tell me that the church of Jesus Christ is still the church of Jesus Christ when you let every type of debauchery come in the door and be uttered. You tell me it’s still the church of Jesus Christ. That’s an apostate church with no reason for being. Why? Because the church is the people that belong to the Lord; they are His and they are, we are gathered to learn about Him not to learn about the stuff of the world. So, we have in all of this in these events, as I said, the restoration of Israel, the destruction of the apostate nations, and peoples, and the ultimate glorification of those that trusted in His holy name. And the Scriptures will be truly fulfilled where it says we read that the dead are going to rise. And I spoke about that in the First Fruits. We need to get a hold of this. These days all represent something they represented what God wanted them to be in their day, but they represent something of a coming time. So, getting to know and understand and parsing them, I would recommend on each of these set times, spending a little time each week. You start studying the feasts because in them when you start reading between the lines, I said this is about the tabernacle, you’re going to start seeing more things that link you to Christ than they do to the law. Even though the law is there, you’re going to see more things that are pointing and linking you to Christ with Scriptures that will be popping into your head, saying, “Wow, I never made that connection before.” Once you start reading it like that, it becomes abundantly clear. Now we have the high holiday of Rosh Hashanah, which has its roots in the Bible, never being referred to as the Rosh Hashanah, but rather Zikhron Teruah, which is the memorial of the blowing of the trumpets or Yom Teruah, Numbers 29, the day of the blowing of the trumpets. So just so that everyone can say, “Yup, I saw it with my own eyes.” “The seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have a holy convocation, you shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you.” Okay, so there you have the Scripture that starts. Versions 1-6 make up the complete set until you move on to the next set time. But when we talk about Rosh Hashanah, that simply means “the head,” Rosh, or Resh, “the head,” and Hashanah “of the new year,” Hashanah; that simply means “the head of the beginning of the year,” but it’s, it’s, this designation was not used as we use it, was not used until the second century, or more than 1,500-plus years after its implementation. Not that that’s a sad thing, just a little fact here. When the temple was destroyed in 70 A.D., its observance was radically altered like many of the other Jewish set times, or what God set out here as the children of Israel’s responsibility. With the absence of the temple, I’ve said offering ceased, and many of the worship practices ceased. But as a result, many synagogues that still fled the city popped up in other places, and we know because we have good archeological evidence of these synagogues peppered throughout, especially Asia Minor. But we begin to see expanded liturgy, new traditions, and practices put in place instead of what would go on in the temple. Now that’s an important thing, and I’m going to tell you why. You could say, “Well, sometimes we have to do what we have to do; it’s a necessity.” But let me ask this question. Now if you or I were steeped in the prescribed methods that God gave and they were perpetuated properly, and we were all dispersed, do you not think, just maybe more of a rhetorical question, but do you not think if God said, “You’re going to offer a ram and a lam” or whatever it is that you’ve to offer or you’re to do, that even if you didn’t have the temple, if you were still trying to please God, much will say like a la Abraham way before any of this, no tabernacle, no temple, but God said basically to kill these animals. Why wouldn’t that have continued? No one stopped anybody from doing any of that. It was only because the set place that God established had been silenced. But the question remains, and this is, this is a question for the ages. Why didn’t those people who were practicing, why did they stop? And you can’t say, “Oh because there was no more temple.” Because who are we? If we don’t have a building, we’re still the people that belong to God. And this has always been my disconnect as I start reading this. I ask myself the question, was it just easier for them to say, “Aw, you know, we’ll make up other things you can do. We’re not doing that anymore. We’ll make up other things.” Well, is that; are these other things of God? Okay, so everybody answered the same thing, silence. That’s to say that that’s where you have a big problem. It’s the same problem that you have with the Catholic Church, okay? So if you go back and you start studying the history of the Catholic Church, and I, I’m a big fan of this, I love studying history, but you can begin to see where layers of things begin to be added on because either “We don’t know what to do, so we’ll just make it up and no one will know because we’re the experts and nobody else has a book or any scroll or anything else to argue with us,” or “You know, that sounds good. That’ll put more money in our coffers. We’ll just charge them a little extra tax and we’ll call it some, something,” okay? So, this is my problem when you get into modern practices. Now, forgive me, but I’m going to repeat this a third time because it is overwhelming. How can you say you’re celebrating or you’re practicing a religion when the bulk of what your religion and practice is about, have stopped? “Well, it’s, it’s in my heart.” Okay. It’s in my heart too. You get my point, right? (Yes, ma’am) Okay. So having said that this is why it’s important for, if I have a ton of Jewish listeners, all I’m asking you to do is think. I’m not trying to tell you bad or, or good. I’m just saying think about this. If God wanted these festivities to keep going in the exact prescribed method, He would have made a way for them to do so, but rather He knew that this all pointed to something else. They refused to see that. That’s why there’s no more. There’s no more for you until the last temple is finally built and the worship that will take place in Ezekiel’s temple is very important because when you go back and you start reading what Ezekiel spells out, there are, I’ve told you this before, items are missing and we know why the items are missing because the items represent Christ. While all these people are saying, “Well, we’ve got to find the Ark of the Covenant, which is important to us.” Why didn’t Ezekiel mention it then if it’s going to be found? Just saying, just an idea, right? Okay. But you’d have to read this book to figure that one out. So having said that, in the Old Testament, this festival we’re talking about coincided with the civil New Year. So, the old Hebrew calendar, Rosh Hashanah occurred on the first day of Tishri, the seventh month. That’s equivalent to our September/mid-October. And then Israel’s two other autumn feasts or set days took place only days later, Yom Kippur, the great Day of Atonement, which I will talk about in another setting. On Tishri, the tenth, and the fifteenth of the same month, the Feast of Tabernacles all clustered together. And this is what I find also remarkable. Most of these events, except for Passover, of course, most of these events happen in the September/October period on our, our present calendar, which is why if people start talking about set times or if they talk about December twenty-fifth, they go I’m like, “Nah, nah, nah, nah.” Okay. Because I’m only interested in what’s going to happen in September or October, okay? Because these times still need to be fulfilled. And I have said this more than once before. Christ’s return must happen on one of these set times. And this time, if you think about it, this set time falls on the seventh month or the seventh, you’ve got the seventh time the trumpet will be blown in the calendar year if you will. And it lines up with everything else. So, if somebody says to me, “Well, what’s so special about September/October?” I make September/October more special than I do December. Why? Because that’s the one I’m looking for. You know, who knows? No one knows the day or the time, but that’s about the time that we’re dealing with. And when I say that it’s just like Christ had to die at a set time to fulfill the Passover, not just in type, but in time that the day, the precision of the date, these things must be fulfilled as well. So that’s why you just can’t study this. And I don’t know, it’s, it’s as I said, it’s baffling to me. But the biblical record, the Feast of Trumpets was a one-day celebration, but for the dispersed community, which we know we had the diaspora, some holidays had ambiguous days tacked on to them. That’s because the people had gotten confused regarding the calendar, much like we do, right, between the two calendars. And that’s why you’ll hear people arguing about which year Christ was born and which year Christ was crucified because we not only had a change in calendars, but if you think about it, the reckoning of time was done, when you read about it, we’re talking about how a Sabbath was calculated from sundown to sunup. So, we’re talking about lunar and solar methodology and not chronology by someone’s calculations otherwise. So, this is why we have a disconnect in our calendar. This is why you have, for example, two or three separate times of Christians celebrating Easter around the world. We’re all on different calendars. Hello. So that does make a difference. But what shouldn’t make a difference is September/October, I don’t care what language or where you live, September/October is September/October anywhere in the world. Those are important windows. Okay, so just remember that for the future because at some point we’re going to take these feasts and we’re going to import them into the New Testament and we’re going to see how they all stack up. But right now, we’re focused on the New and dabbling a little bit; focused on the Old, dabbling a little bit in the New. So, the start of each Hebrew month was dependent on the sighting of the new moon. This could be a problem like if the weather, say it, was cloudy or if there wasn’t an abundantly qualified witness. So, you’ve got a lot of issues to attest to, certain things that we would just know in our day of technology look up in the sky and it’s nothing ambiguous about it, right? Once we moved to temple time, so we’re, we’ve moved away from the tabernacle, we’re in temple times, a burnt offering would be offered on Rosh Hashanah, a young bull, a ram, and seven lambs. A kid goat was also sacrificed as an offering for sin. These were in addition to what was already prescribed for daily sacrifices along with the offerings for a new moon. Let me pause right there because somebody will talk about this and say, “Well, what about the new moon?” Do you remember when Paul said, “Don’t let anybody judge you in this, don’t let anybody tell you anything”? That’s because, I want you to think about this, the new moon became something irrelevant in Paul’s understanding, which I understand what he was trying to say. We’re not focused anymore on the new moon. We’re not focused anymore on ━we’re focused on one singular person and that’s Christ. We’re not looking for new moons, so don’t let anybody judge you with respect if you want to look at the new moon or not, or what food you eat or not. But here’s the greater focus. This is the most important thing. Christ is the center and the circumference of all in terms of us being Christians. So, this is another little interesting sidebar. So, the actual observance of the Feast of Trumpets is only recorded one time, if you can believe that, in the Old Testament, just once. I think that’s staggering. That occurs in Nehemiah, and if you remember, we studied this. We went through the books of Ezra and Nehemiah. But in Nehemiah 8, we have, if you remember, the people that did return from captivity, and it was a small slice of the community, those that returned and came back to rebuild everything that had been destroyed. And if you’re reading Nehemiah 8, it’s interesting. We have Ezra the scribe and he has the book of Moses, which the Lord had commanded to Israel, “Ezra the priest brought the law before the congregation both of men and women and all that could hear with understanding upon the first day of the seventh month.” What did I just say the first day of the seventh month was? Feast of Trumpets, okay, “And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and women, and those that could understand; and in the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law.” And it, we have a description here, but this is, this happens. And if you read through in your own time, because I’m running out of time, but if you read through this passage coupled with a few verses written in Ezra, you can see this is the first real, we’ll call it where they rekindled or reignited everything because they will also celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles and so on for the first time after being, having been in bondage and captivity and come back into the land. So, I think it’s interesting though that’s the only time that you’re going to read about it in, in its unfolding and why I’m just, I’m pointing this out to you as I said in your own time, because I’m short of time to do this. But it’s interesting to me because this time, unlike for example when we get to the Feast of Tabernacles, and we know that that is a feast that will be celebrated in the future. We know that, okay. I keep repeating this week after week, Zechariah says, the people that come to the mount, when they look upon Christ after His return, they look upon Christ and they realize, “Oh wow, He was Messiah.” They are going to be forced, not, this is not sign up voluntarily; they’re going to be forced to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. Now whether a person believes that or not, what was Tabernacles? It was they moved outside of their dwelling into, we’ll call them, temporary dwelling places that were movable, made of branches, as a reminder. But I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself. The point is they will celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles in the future. That’s what the final chapters of the book of Zechariah say. So, it’s interesting and noteworthy that when the people came back and they were rebuilding and now they find the book of the law, they’re going to start celebrating. And they start with, what happens? It’s the Feast of Trumpets first. And this is especially important because this whole picture of if you want to call it destruction or the aftermath of destruction and the people coming back tells me God has always had and will always have a remnant faithful to Him. But here we have, as I said, an unfolding which is, it’s important because as there was a remnant in, in Ezra and Nehemiah’s day, there shall be a remnant in the future. Imagine after all the destruction that takes place on the earth, the wrath of God being poured out, what we’re talking about, a terrible, terrible time, and there’ll still be a remnant here. So, the Feast of Trumpets is important even though they don’t make a big deal out of it here. It paints a picture for you that you could apply to a future time. There will be people who do not understand. There’ll be people who will not know, but they’ll hear, and they’ll know this is of God and they will be broken inside why they didn’t have this epiphany earlier or sooner, so just a little sidebar for that. Now in ancient times, the new moon would be announced by short quick blasts of the trumpet, but the new moon of the seventh month was to be ushered in with long blasts. By Solomon’s day, the extravagance of worship had ballooned, the trumpets, an ensemble of 120 trumpeters. That’s extravagant. I mean Solomon didn’t do anything on a small level. R-29a Let’s just say that. According to the writings of Josephus, the priest would also sound the trumpet from the southwest corner of the temple to mark the beginning and the end of the Sabbath. So, it’s interesting. The trumpet was more instrumental than we thought. And there’s a good amount of confusion as I said between shofar, this is the ram’s horn, a Keren, which is the horn of an animal, and these silver trumpets. So, the ram’s horn is associated with the jubilee year; that’s a fiftieth year and was to be blown on Yom Kippur. That you’ll find in Leviticus 25:9. Every fiftieth year the shofar announced the arrival of the jubilee year, a time to free slaves and the fields were to lay fallow for time. That would be the shofar being blown. There were several different uses though for the trumpet and I cataloged a few but let’s see if we can get this straight, so gathered an assembly before the Lord. In other places it was the sound of a battle; the battle’s on, and the horn is being blown. It would also be blown for the coronation of a new king such as the case with Solomon, Jehu, and Joash as well as the unfortunate person named Absalom. These all had the trumpet blown for them. Within Judaism, there is a ten-day period from the start of trumpets until what I have, what I’m describing here, Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur, in modern times called the “Days of Awe.” Now this is interesting and again I’m bringing this up to point out a few things. The tradition and custom say that during this time divine judgment is rendered as to the individual’s life or death in the coming year. I think that’s kind of, it’s a tragedy if anybody would adhere to that because that means that there is, there’s not much time if you have during the coming year what your fate shall be so to speak. I don’t know if I like that approach but during this period, interesting, God is reviewing, in their eyes, the person’s behavior and metes out final judgment on the tenth of Tishri or Yom Kippur. It’s said that these ten days are a person’s last chance to repent. According to the tradition, three books are open, the book of life for good and godly, the book of life for the wicked, and a book for those in between. That’s interesting don’t you think? Because I don’t believe that for a minute. That is a tradition of man. That’s never been in God’s book and that will never be in God’s book. Yes, there is a book that the New Testament talks about, which is called the “Book of Life,” those that are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Yes, that’s the real thing. And I’m sure there is a book that is kept for the wicked, but there is no book for those in between. With God, I’ve said this, there are only two types of people: “Why this waste?” or “Let me give this and keep giving it,” right? There are only two types. There’s nothing in the middle. So don’t be silly to think, “Oh, well, I’ll just stand in the middle and it’s okay.” That’s called lukewarm in the Bible and God spits out the lukewarm. He says, “Either hot or cold, please pick a side,” right? Eech, yes, God only knows. All right, so as I said, these 10 days people are given a chance to repent and you might be asking, “Is there some Scripture that maybe they took this from to turn it into tradition?” And the answer is yes. The rabbis talked amongst themselves and discussed and discussed and discussed, and that could have another meaning. And from Psalm 69 verse 28, “Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.” There may be that that was the influence. As well as a quote from Exodus 32:32-33, which may have added to this, but that’s not God’s way. And that’s why I said to you it’s important. I don’t care because I have a lot of Jewish folks that listen to me, we have a lot of Christians, a lot of Catholics, we have a lot of Muslims that listen, you know, people who just want to learn and they want to know versus people who want to know God. And all I can tell you is something noticeably clear to me. I don’t care what you’re practicing or what you identify as, but if you’re identifying as a child of God, you better be listening to the Father, our heavenly Father. That’s it. His words are in here and anything that is added to that I’m not a purist, I’m not a crazy person, but you start now, it’s like diluting God’s word, okay? It’s, it’s “God plus this because we like this, we’ll just graft this on God plus that.” I don’t think it works that way. But anyway, so the week before Rosh Hashanah in modern Jewry is called salacot, “forgiveness.” These prayers of penitence are repeated in preparation for the Holy Day. Now, this is another thing that caught my mind. When you know about these things, you start saying, “Yeah, okay, not so quick here.” So, something called the Tashlik in Hebrew, “the shedding or the casting off of one’s sins.” This is a celebration, if you want to call it, that was born in the Middle Ages. So again, this concept is not biblical and it essentially; look, in many cultures, you’re going to find this in many diverse cultures. All you’ve got to do, for example, is look at the Hindu people in the Ganges River. They go once a year and they cast something into the Ganges. That’s to say, “My sins are they’re whatever tangible item I took, and it’s gone.” Right? Now, you know, listen, that may mentally work for you, but on the spiritual completeness of what God can do, God is the only one that can do. We cannot rid ourselves. I could try and pick out all my impurities and my flaws until I die. It’s not going to happen. I can work on being a better me, and there’s no problem with that. But in terms of being conformed to the image and likeness of Christ, that is His work and His work alone, which includes the Holy Spirit being the guide to teach and to show me when I’m in the wrong when I have done something wrong. What is the feeling that I get when I recognize, “Oh wow.” It’s not, it is not anything more than the Spirit bringing conviction,” which is what Christ said in John’s book to help us so that we’re able to see, communicate, hear, feel, and receive from God. So, it’s important to look at this properly. If you think about it, there are a whole bunch of penitent psalms: Psalm 118, Psalm 33, 130. Micah 7:18-20 is one of the most well-known that your sins be cast into the depths of the sea, never to be seen again. That’s fine. But here’s my problem with that. We’re not able to cast off. Have you ever, have you ever tried to okay, we’re aging, right? Your skin gets wrinkled. You try and put cream on it, right? But you can’t fix that. That’s what that is. That’s a product of time that’s saying time is passing, elements, the environment, things you consume, but you can’t fix that. Oh, I’m sure you could get it cut, tucked, and nipped, but still going to come back and be the same thing. It’ll still be wrinkled eventually, okay? Sin is the same way. Unless God does the work, you are still in your sins, and unless you’re looking to Christ, you’re still in your sins. And unless Christ came out of the grave, you’re still in your sins, and nothing you could do to Tashlik. You can repent, you can feel bad, you can have a guilty mind, guilty conscience, you can express whatever you want, but only God can remove, cleanse. “What can wash away my sins, nothing but the blood of Jesus,” we sing that song for a reason. I cannot do it. You cannot do it. Now, after reciting, oh, if you’re interested, Tashlik comes from “to cast,” which is one of the words in Micah 7:18-20, “our sins be cast,” Tashlik. So, after reciting these prayers that I just mentioned out of the various psalms, we’d often see people shaking out their clothes or their pockets. You may have seen this. I’ve seen this, it freaked me out the first time I saw it. They’re doing this, and usually, they do it close to a body of water, it could be a pool, it could be a puddle. Do you know what that is? “Ah, I’m empty now God. I, I took it all out in front of You,” and that’s supposed to be your sins. I thought it was pocket cleaning from a bad lint job or something. I don’t know. Anyway, leave me alone. I don’t know these things, all right? But it’d be like breadcrumbs being cast into the water. Now listen, I’m not, if that’s what you celebrate, that’s your cup of tea, knock yourself out. But I wouldn’t want to have a faith that’s contingent upon my actions as determinative versus what only God can do. And when He does it, He does it perfectly, okay? So Jewish tradition also teaches that on Rosh Hashanah, Satan accuses the believers as the books of life and judgment are open. But he can only appear on Rosh Hashanah. Sorry, there are certain things there that just don’t make sense to me because if he’s who he is, he’s the accuser of the brethren. He’s, he’s accusing all year long. He doesn’t wait for one special day to do it, right? Four holy days that take place during the spring, which I’ve mentioned a few, Passover, Unleavened Bread, the First Fruits, and Feast of Weeks were fulfilled by Christ’s first coming. Feast of Trumpets, Yom Kippur, and Tabernacles, the three autumn holidays or holy days will be fulfilled in their entirety as they are meant to be with His return. So, we still have three left to go. And that’s why I said these three times are especially important. And when we get to these, you’ll find out why. When we understand properly Yom Kippur, there the celebration of Christ’s return will have even more meaning. So, let’s just leave that one. There is a passage out of the Old Testament written in several unusual places by different writers at various times that are saying the same thing. Here, for example, “The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.” You’ve read that before, “The great and awesome day of the LORD.” That’s pointing to that day, His return. Anytime you read in the Old Testament, “the day of the LORD,” “the great and awesome day of the LORD,” that’s pointing to His Second Coming, that return time, Joel 2:31, Isaiah 13:9-10, Acts 2:20, etc., etc. So, the day of the Lord or the final day of the Lord, the period at the end of this age, the Lord will pour out His judgment upon the earth. And as I said, connect this back to the trumpets. This is what’s important because you go, and you start reading Revelation. Do not read Revelation as though it’s in perfect order. There are parts of the book that are almost overlaid. You’ve got to read them together, woven together, not like, I remember, some person came with the idea, “If you read it backward, it’ll make sense.” Uh, okay, anyway, I don’t know what to say about that. That’s, that’s frightening. How do we get so many bozos in the body of Christ? I don’t know. Okay, I’m sorry. I just said it, okay. Yes, read the book. It was written that way. Read it that way. Good Lord, help us. It will be a time of darkness. The prophet Amos wrote about this, Amos 5:18-20, “Woe unto you who desire the day of the LORD! For what good is the day of the LORD unto you? It will be darkness, not light. It will be as though a man fled from a lion, only to run into and encounter a bear,” so no escape. And this is why if somebody said to me, “Well, what do I do then?” I’d say, “Get to know Christ.” Don’t get to know Christ because it’s like, “Oh, there’s nothing else but.” You get to know Christ because He’s the one in control. He is the Lord of Lords. You get to know Him. And I, you know, I may be made a caricature of this, but even Moses said, “Pick a side.” Whose side are you on? You’ve got to pick a side. You can’t go through life in the middle of everything and say at the last minute, “I choose God. I choose Christ.” Now maybe God lets that fly, but for preparation for eternity, I don’t know. I can’t, I can’t speak about that. Thank God I’m not God because I’d say, “Hell no.” All right. Zephaniah wrote on this as well, “The great day of the LORD is near; that day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble, a day of devastation, a day of desolation, destruction, and darkness.” Then you have a passage out of Revelation 6 where it says, “And I looked and he opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; the sun became black, the moon became like blood; the stars of heaven fell to the earth . . .. For the wonderful day of his wrath has come; and who can stand?” So, there is a day coming. As I said, make no mistake about it. This is why I say, if people take the book, read it, and recognize, and listen, some things are difficult for people. You know, some people say, “Well, how could the sun have stood still? And the sun has never stood still since?” Or how could mention this last week, “How could somebody be swallowed by a great fish?” Although there are a couple of videos circulating of people being swallowed and spit out by some great fish, they didn’t last exceptionally long. They weren’t in there for three days and three nights. I think the two ladies that were swallowed on a kayak were spit up quickly. I could make a joke there, but we’re going to leave that alone; I try to keep your mind on the Lord here. In many places, the Bible speaks of the sounding of the trumpet or the horn, but twice it is recorded that God will use this method to summon the people. And that is the same concept that will happen in the culmination of time. We know, we know about the first one. We just looked at it. So, the last one is mentioned there as well in the book. “The LORD will once more descend from heaven,” the prophet Zechariah foretold. And this is what he says, “Then the LORD will be seen over them, and his arrow will go forth as lightning, and the LORD will go; will blow the trumpet and go with the whirlwinds from the south. And as the day of the LORD begins, God’s last trump will be sounded.” The Messiah will be seen, revealing a great outpouring to prepare the nation to be brought into an understanding, and a realm a complete realm of the new covenant or elimination. So, it’s interesting because even Paul wrote, you know, “Behold, I’ll tell you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, we shall be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump.” And if you look that up in Greek, you’re going to see what that means, and it doesn’t mean anything else but what I’ve just been talking about. There’s going to be a lot of activity happening, but there requires a summoning, and that will be that summons if you will. And like in antiquity, the sounding of God’s last trump will be several, if you will, not, we say it, “the last trump,” but it will be several soundings with purpose. It will gather the assembly to the Lord, which we know in many different books, Old and New, talk about the gathering of the people coming to the mount, future time. And whether that be the sound of a physical trumpet or the sound, it is the voice of Christ or it is the voice of the gospel. I don’t know, I can’t tell you if it’s literal or if it’s just a picture, but that is, that’s coming. The righteous will be delivered from the wrath to come. The righteous dead will be resurrected, and the living shall be gathered out of the four winds. The last trump will also serve another purpose, the battle sound against Satan and his minions as the wonderful day of wrath begins. And if you know about this super-battle that occurs, read all about it, it’s going to take a summoning of the people. Now look, I’ll show you how interesting this is. I’ve been talking to you for two weeks about world events that many of you, I know, didn’t hear of, and didn’t know. So, imagine something that could be happening over on the other corner of the earth, and you don’t know about it unless God is summoning the people, unless God is telling the people, somehow, He must communicate, “Hey, worldwide, this is happening. Get, get your attention; it’s on.” Do you see what I’m saying? So, it’s impossible for it to just be something small. It’s certainly not going to be something you’re going to hear in the mainstream media. They’ll be saying some crazy thing that’ll be like, “Huh? What are they talking about? Oh, there, aliens just landed in Israel and there, they’re sucking people up into their ship.” Never mind, if you didn’t get that one, it’s okay. It’s all a distraction, if you will, okay? This is why I, say to people, God gives opportunities and chances every day. When we, as Christians, mess up, He allows us to get up, look to Him, and point in the right direction. To the people who were not wanting to even acknowledge, “Don’t talk to me about God. I don’t want to hear it,” He allows opening their heart. And as I just mentioned, a person like Alice Cooper, and there are millions of people around the world just like that, where He gives an opportunity. A whole life is lived against God and then God opens the eyes, the heart, and the mind. Everything’s open. So, it’s important for people, even people that might listen and just pass by because they heard me say things that they just can’t fathom. Something that I said that you heard me say in this message will be stuck like a record that’s stuck in a groove. And even though you don’t care about God right now, you just heard me say one thing and keep replaying. You repeat it in anger. “I can’t believe that she, she would say that!” That happens a lot. And that sometimes is God working on that person’s mind or their heart to open. And how many messages have I gotten over the years of people saying, “Ah, well, it wasn’t going to be me? Not me. Oh no, not me.” Oh no, not me, right? So, when I say to you, all these feasts are important. All these set times are important. They all point us to Christ, but I still am a big believer in this. If a person, even if they say, “I don’t want to know about God,” you, you are in that state, you just don’t want to know, the best thing I could tell you is at least do what other people have chosen not to do. Do not stay ignorant. In other words, if somebody says, “Why don’t you read the Qur’an?” You know, about, I’m going to say 12 years ago, somebody said to me, “You, you know nothing about the Qur’an.” They were right. I took it upon myself because I don’t want to be ignorant to read the Qur’an. It’s exceedingly difficult for me to read it, okay? I’m not going to lie to you. It’s exceedingly difficult for me, but I read it. Why? Because I don’t want to be ignorant, I want to know, so when I’m in a discussion talking about something, I know what you’re going to be telling me as a rebuttal, as a refusal, whatever it is. I know I’m, I’m, I’m at least educated. It doesn’t mean because I read the Qur’an that I’ve converted to Islam. Just because somebody reads the Bible doesn’t mean they convert to Christianity or Judaism, but you read to educate yourself. In the process, you find something out. You find out how much you don’t know about you and how much you don’t know about God. And that, my friends, is the beginning of wisdom. Not when you come in as the smartest person in the room and you know everything, and God can’t even tell you anything. But you come in and you say, “You know what? I’m not into this, but I’m going to read it anyway and figure what, figure this out for myself. And then after I’ve processed this, I can figure out whether I want to reject it or accept it,” although that’s another story. But all I want to tell you today is these set times, and specifically, the three that I mentioned that are yet to be fulfilled, are extremely important for us to study. Because as I said to you, if, if the trumpet being sounded is for the assembly, which we will assemble, the dead shall rise in Christ first, but we all shall assemble. Dead, risen, those that are alive at the time, we shall all assemble. So, the clarion called to assemble, that’s number one. The clarion called to battle, that’s number two. You say, “Well, who? Who are we battling?” Well, read the book of Revelation, and you’ll, and you’ll figure it out. When Christ returns with His army; that ought to tell you, those words right there ought to tell you it’s not going to be a peacetime, even though He brings eventually in the re-creative period, new heavens, new earth, He brings peace, but He does not come peacefully. And finally, the sounding of that trump for us as Christians is to look at and say, “Yes, God had a point right there.” But when He said in perpetuity, He’s also telling us, don’t forget about this because it points to something that is yet to happen in the future. And look out, because God’s not a man to lie, He’s made good on so many of these things that He said beforehand, which we’ve seen come to fruition. So, things yet to come, I think we can stand on that as take it to the bank of the heaven and stand there. And for those people to say, “Well, I might not be around.” What are you talking about? What are you talking about? Now listen to me, you may not be alive at the coming of Christ. You may be dead, but you’re going to be alive. You’re going to be risen out. It says very clearly, people are going to come out of their graves. People will come back to life, those that are alive on the earth, those that are dead. So, when we take that whole picture, don’t tell me, “I’m not going to be there, it doesn’t matter.” It’s going to matter. And when I tell you, those who have lived not perfectly, but by faith, they’ll be there. So, God’s not looking for you to be perfect. He’s looking for you to trust Him. And it starts with these small steps and looking into these most important set times. We will continue and take up the subject again next week. That’s my message. “Sheeple People” Do Not Be Controlled

foreign [Music] I get help from you I don’t it’s not always me helping you sometimes you give me help in fact one of the staff people this morning helped me tremendously and reminding me of a message that Dr Scott preached which we all know Psalm 84 but I needed to be reminded of that to recognize that God doesn’t say how long that value might be and we may be entering in no we are entering into a valley not just me anyone who loves this country and loves the Lord this brother here I love what he says thank I thank God always for our Second Amendment I hope you don’t mind I’m reading this to the congregation but it made me smile and made me happy and I’m hoping that some of you hear a bit and hear between the lines of what I’m reading please I thank God always for a second amendment it is the fire while holding back the spirit of antichrist there are now 26 states where an American citizen does not need a permit to carry a firearm Florida being one of the 26 other states let you carry with a permit making the USA citizens the largest Army in the world wait a minute you know what do you know what the problem is we have forgotten as a people and I’m sorry I’m taking time but I have to do this now because I won’t repeat this again we as a people need to find the spirit of our founding fathers and of those who bucked the tide of oppressive taxes I’m not saying be a tax evader I’m not saying break the law I’m not saying be a pistol-toting creep out in the street firing shots at will and don’t hurt him by the way never mind what I am saying though is that this brother pointed out something very profound the people have power and I think we forget that because we can be so pressed down by things I’ll be honest with you it’s been for the last few months it’s been shameful to see what has been happening in our country that people are just putting their stamp of approval on here’s the interesting thing if anybody actually understood what woke means willingly overlooking evil willingly with knowledge overlooking evil that is the definition of woke not my eyes are open but I’m willfully overlooking that I don’t care about it now if you’re like me and I told you this I won’t go quietly I’m not that person I’m not a coward I don’t run away from things but one person cannot fix this country guess what even if this whole congregation just in front of me decided we’re going to go out and make a difference we couldn’t do it either do you know why because this group here would look like a needle in a haystack when you put us out into the world but I’ll tell you what can happen this is a conversation you can have with people who are non-believers people who are whatever you want to call them and the question is do you care about America because if you care about America in this country if you care about the fact that our children are being exposed and let’s just call it what it is to pedophilia pedophiles and making it an acceptable condition in society like everything else that’s rammed down a Christian’s throat that you must accept or else you’re a hater and I’m tired of it I’m tired I’m sorry but this is one meal I’m going to pass on I’m not interested and you can call me hate-filled you can call me a bigot you can come I am tired of people in this country letting themselves be programmed somehow that’s your skin color or your whatever it is you want to make yourself different as matters more than you being a proud American and standing up for our children who cannot defend themselves standing up for the Constitution which is parsed in the Bill of Rights which is parsed like a cheap newspaper rag disrespected and somehow with this digital currency being implemented it’s another layer of control why do you think there’s a push for electric vehicles and for getting rid of gas stoves why do you think the push is electric can California support everyone driving an electric vehicle by whatever the date is hell no we can’t even support the power grid now but genius is somewhere up on a hill said this is a great idea not because it’s going to save the planet because those Vehicles do the research yourself by in in three years from now or five years from now they predict that all these electric vehicles what they will have contributed to reducing the climate issue which I’m sorry to tell you is not an issue will be point zero two that is what your tax dollars have been spent on nothing and if I’m angry it’s because I am angry I’m angry that all of this move is to destroy but it’s also done for something else you see look at the rest of the world and you will see how all the people have just kind of gone along with it they cower at the government they cower at the idea do you know what the greatest threat to the World Health Organization and the other globalists you know what the worst threat is Americans who have a defiant Spirit who will not comply like the rest of the world as sheeple people who don’t have a prayer and idea that the idea and the goal is to control all of us to know all about your business how many times you go to the bathroom how much paper toilet paper you use what foods you eat so when you get sick they can deny you care in a hospital because you ate garbage or you couldn’t afford good food does anybody see where this is going I’m not a conspiracy person I’m not a tin hat person but I see it clearly when I read other countries are being destroyed and no one seems to be standing up to say no I will not do this I will not comply and the ones that do oh just take a look at our brothers and sisters to the north of us that country Canada and we’ve got a lot of King’s houses and my sympathies to so many of the good people that live in Canada that are being incarcerated hear me out but look this up don’t take my word for it they’re being incarcerated just for being Christians just for reading the Bible one man in a public uh Square reading the Bible is arrested he’s asking why well he’s not allowed to read the Bible in public I’m sorry that may be happening there but don’t think for a second the idea is not to have that type of control over the populace here and if the government can take away your guns under the auspices guns are dangerous you know it’s a real insult to the citizens to tell you that guns are dangerous and you shouldn’t have them because you’re not smart enough to use them that’s the I’m sorry but that is the goal so all you got to do is look at a country where they took away the firearms and tell me how good that country is doing and don’t tell me that that reduced crime because criminals will always manage to find and get guns if you abandon they’ll find them okay so it’s time for anyone who’s listening to me to wake up we’ve got a lot of problems going on I cannot control the world I can’t fix the world but I can tell you what I’m going to do I’m not telling you to do as I do but I’m telling you what I’m going to do and I’m going to fight this tooth and nail it means that wherever I can use cash I’m going to use cash when people say sorry I don’t take cash I turn my butt around and I go out the door why because this whole move is we will force it out of you so July 26 supposedly is the date and I don’t know I can’t tell you that that this is certified information but from all the sources that I’ve read in people who are somehow connected this information seems pretty good and the idea is that on July 26th the initial recall of the American dollar will begin so listen I pray it doesn’t happen I pray that all the information that I’ve been given is wrong okay I pray that but if it doesn’t happen in July it’ll happen in August or September because we’re just going to be part of listen all the global countries have basically backed away from you using the US dollar you know that right well that knowledge tells you now we’re kind of in a free fall the government keeps spending keeps printing money and spending money that’s not there so we’re in a free fall right now so there has to be something that gives so I’m telling you this in advance so that you understand we may have to reinvent ourselves to be able to do two things to continue to function doing what we do here and also to protect you I will not to the best of my ability listen I’m not a guardian angel I don’t have superpowers but to the best of my ability I will try and Implement if that gets implemented I will try and Implement a system here that at least for all intents purposes you are paying tuition for a course and it’s nobody’s business what you’re learning now that may not fly and I don’t know I can’t tell you anything beyond is all I can tell you is I’m trying and doing the best I can and I’m asking you to pray for me because I need all the prayer I can get to make the right decisions for this church and when I say this church this is not a church of one or a church of one we are a people that belong to the Lord so every decision I make is crucial especially the ones that either leave you vulnerable or protect you to the best that I can and I can’t Shield you from everything but I can Shield you minimally from the government looking into your business at what we do here at Faith Center so I’m going to leave that subject right now because I’ve taken up a lot of time and I’m only asking you to do one thing I’m not asking you to Panic please don’t do that it doesn’t help I’m not asking you to go nuts that doesn’t help either I’m not asking you to go out and get a gun if you don’t have one so you can say you belong to the greatest army on Earth although let’s come back to that one maybe what I am asking you for though right now is pray for me whatever decisions I do Christ Is the Firstfruits, and We Are the Harvest – The Tabernacle through the Eyes of Christ #18

Don't say you are a Christian. Don't parse words with me. Don't play games with me. You are a Christian when you are following Christ, period. You're not a Christian because you come to church one day out of the year. You're following Christ. And following Christ doesn't necessarily mean you come to church either. How's that for putting it the way it is? But you're following Christ, which means you are studying Him. And “Him” is not a pronoun limited to one book or one half of a book. It's the whole thing. ♪ ♪ So, we've been in a study now, I think 17-plus weeks, looking at through the lens by way of the New Testament, looking into the Old Testament.

We started with looking at the tabernacle, its furnishings, we moved on to the offerings, and now we are kind of in the set times. And it all ties together, but I've been trying to say this over and over and over again. And maybe you'll hear me repeat it a few times, even in this message today. You've got repeatedly things that are; they are types of our Lord. They are pictures. They are things that when we read them, let's just put ourselves in the Old Testament saints' shoes for a minute and there is no New Testament, just for a second, we would only be seeing one dimension, what God said to Moses, “These are the directions.” That's all we would see, all we would know; we wouldn't know that there's more.

So not just the practical application, but we, reading the full book can see the prophetical application and fulfillment in many of these things, pointing to Christ. Now if I sound repetitive on this, it's because this is what this book does. A lot of people say, “Well, I don't, I don't bother with the Old Testament because it's the Old Testament.” That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I'm sorry, but that is. Without this Old Testament, even reading the New Testament doesn't really make sense. You know, if you're reading “Jesus, born of a virgin,” ah, okay, but if, if you're reading the Old Testament and you can see that there were prophecies foretold that our Lord would be born of a virgin, that certain things foretelling, that's why you need the Old Testament. You can't do away with it, and why would you? It's only those people who really don't understand why it's here or they are adherence to the old way.

They are still slaying saber-toothed tigers, even though the saber-toothed tiger doesn't exist anymore. So we, we've been looking at, we started with the Sabbath, Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, marking the beginning of Israel's feasts, commemorating the deliverance of Egypt, out of Egypt's bondage and the first harvest of the year. Now the New Year would later be marked out in the fall season, so we have two New Years to deal with eventually, but I'll explain that in a minute. All of these set times, all of them, first and foremost in their practical setting, were to remind the children of Israel that time, as well as attorney; eternity, as well as everything else, belonged to God. Now, see, sometimes I think these people were really fortunate because, well, they were. They had the direct sight of everything that happened.

We are living generations after and we are having to, by faith, take everything that's here. They got to see firsthand. So if you think about it, if you lived in that day, you might be a little bit better off in some respects, unless you were the stiff-necked, rebellious children of Israel, but you might be better off in that there was some type of connection. I mean, imagine if you were in Egypt's bondage and you saw the plagues poured out and you saw the most powerful ruler in the then-known land basically succumb to the words of God, letting the people go.

I mean, something tells me it'd be a little bit different than how we are in today's day and age, very distracted, it's take it or leave it. We're all in this very, “I'm not sure it really happened, did it happen that way?” And so to really assess why God made these set times, which I've said already, the set times have a connection or a correlation to Israel's history or in general the history, for example, the Sabbath takes you right back to creation. But much of these set times as we begin to study them, we see that God is saying, I want you to remember something in perpetuity, your deliverance out of Egypt's bondage. And why is that important? Because you could read this, just reading the Old Testament here and say, “Okay, I got it already; they, God delivered them out of Egypt's bondage.” But what if Egypt's bondage is God delivering you out of a life basically with no God, full of sin? If that's, then it would be remembered. It would be something you'd keep thinking of and you'd be grateful for that God opened your eyes, that He found you.

That's called prevenient grace. So when God says to remember their deliverance over and over again, yes, He's talking about that specific act, but we who are reading this should remember two things. It's a double; it's a double whammy for us. The first one is that God made good on His word to deliver the people. He said they would go in to a land that was not theirs, they'd be strangers in that land. They'd come out of that land, greater in number, richer, etc., which they did. And then you've got the double whammy for us as Christians, understanding God has called many out of the darkness into His light and that is the same as being delivered from Egypt's bondage. Your, your eyes have been opened.

So don't think, don't just read it in a one-dimensional way. Now on the fifteenth of Nisan, which is the equivalent to our April, depending on when it falls, but usually it's equivalent to April, the Feast of Unleavened Bread began. It went for seven days; no leaven could be consumed. And we read often a term, if you've ever seen━how many of you have ever seen a Passover booklet called a Haggadah? Okay, so it's a little booklet and basically it's, we'll call it the synopsis of the deliverance story, okay? But what's interesting is the Haggadah, the name on there, “festival” or “festivity,” we don't tend to think about this, but the Passover was referred to that. And in fact, there's a passage in━let's see if the brain's working good here━in Exodus, I'll read it to you if I can find it. Okay, here. So Moses is talking to Pharaoh and he says━“And afterwards Moses and Aaron went in, told Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness.” Now why is that interesting? Because that word is we'ahogu, which is very much, because it's a Semitic language, it's very much like the Arab word hajj.

They're just pronounced differently. So we have that same concept, a “pilgrimage,” or “wandering,” if you will. And these feasts or set times, don't think that they just happened like God said, “Okay, we're going to have a party now.” They were all to tie back, as I said, either in creation, Israel's history, things that God wanted the children of Israel, and after that, us, we who are of the new dispensation, to think on, believe, and obviously this is where I'm going with this.

So we're tying the old feasts and showing how they connect into the New. The law instructed the children of Israel that when they entered the land; this is always missed; when they entered the land, the Promised Land, the land that God said they would enter into and reap the harvest, that they would bring a sheaf of the first grain to the priest who would weave it before the Lord on their behalf. And there's something that I don't know why it's missed often, but I have it open in front of me and I'll read it to you as well from Leviticus 23 and verse 10, “Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them,” listen carefully, “When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, there ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest.” So clearly, a lot of times people think━first, how could you do a harvest and practice a real true harvest if they wandered for 40 years in the desert? Hello.

So I mean, you could probably harvest some things, but you're constantly moving. So He clearly says, “When you come into the land which I give unto you,” and that's key to understand how this would become regulated and obviously everything in the law becomes regulated. So by yielding and offering their firstfruits of their harvest to God, the first of it, they acknowledge that they were dependent on God for the harvest yet to come. And this is the other thing I'm finding people━you only know what people mess up when you start to read what people have, in good intention, I'm sure, penned. There's a lot of confusion about Firstfruits that is the gathering of the first of whatever and the feast of ingathering, which happens as we'll call it the full-orbed, full-blown harvest at the end of the season, okay. There's, there are differences here. So this particular Firstfruits would have been observed with somber tone.

The sheaf was to be waved on the day after the Sabbath. What we New Testament folks, I refer to this in my message on the Sabbath as the Lord's Day because it's the day the Savior rose. And the apostle Paul refers to Christ, in 1 Corinthians 15:20, as “the firstfruits of them that slept”" So this act, if you will, of our Lord's, of basically of dying and resurrecting and ascending, but the death and Resurrection portion, the Firstfruits hallowed the harvest from which it was taken. So I want you to think on why Firstfruits is important. Now, don't get me wrong, the late Dr. Gene Scott taught on Firstfruits and made it an integral part, if you will, of giving in this church, which people would basically first of the year and whether it's your first paycheck or the first of anything usually, and that's how it was taught.

I'm not saying that that ought not to be done, but there's something actually, in my opinion, infinitely more important than that, and I'm going to tell you what it is. If let's just say we go to glean the firstfruits of whatever is coming up and we're choosing the choicest and the best, it is a type. We're saying; we're not saying, “Oh, I hope that the rest of the harvest is going to be like this.” The firstfruits that we would be offering to God in the agrarian society would definitely be the expectancy of the rest of the harvest.

Does that make sense? Good, because now I want you to think about what Paul wrote when he said, “Christ is the firstfruits of them that slept.” For the Christian, we should expect, it shouldn't be; I don't know why I've done how many funerals and I still see people doing this very same thing, not understanding their faith. And that to me is the greatest, if you want to know what a crime is, that's a great crime because Christ died, went first as the first Goer. We have a right; we'll call it the right of expectancy that we too will be like Him. We too shall rise. That's the concept that for me, the most important concept of Firstfruit to recognize that something like this had not happened before. And don't get Lazarus confused in the mix. Lazarus was called forward to show Christ had the power over the grave and over death, but Lazarus still had to die.

So he's called out of the dead. Deliberately we know that the passage tells us that he was in the grave, and it's either Mary or Martha says, “You know, by now he's going to be stinking. It's been, so”━you know, it's well beyond the third, fourth day now. And that was deliberately put in there because you could not be considered certifiably dead unless three days had passed.

So we know Lazarus was certifiably dead when Christ called him out of the tomb, but that is not the Resurrection. He did resurrect from the dead, but he'd still have to die again, a normal death, and then like everyone else, hate to say it like this, but Lazarus is not like, he's not an exception, like everybody else, all must die. And this is why that expression that says, “Unless a grain of corn go into the earth.” It takes something essentially that looks dead to bring life. So here we have Christ as the first Goer and what was removed, and you're looking at these feast times, what was removed, the impediment, was the ceremonial impurity, and I'll explain what I mean by that.

The relation that the Firstfruits sustain the harvest is one thing, but remember the steps that had to be taken before. So if we understand the laws of the offerings that we looked at, and we kind of string this together, I hate to say it, like beads, it becomes clear that these times were set up with special times before or after one could be cleansed. Let's just say if you were making a sin and trespass offering, and then this would be offered or this would be celebrated. So God had a way of basically making sure everyone could be included if you went by the prescribed method, which we're looking into right now.

And if you're curious to know, Leviticus 23 spells it out. You've got a couple of passages in Exodus, Exodus 23, I believe━don't quote me on that, but I believe it's Exodus 23 as well. And then in Deuteronomy and Numbers, you've got some kind of extra material there, so yours to kind of pick apart. But when I, and you're going to hear me repeat this throughout this message. If the same relationship that the children of Israel had to the harvest, that is the Firstfruits, the expectancy, the, “Okay, we offered, we took the Firstfruits and we offered the best to God”" we are following the same pattern as Christ is the Firstfruits.

We should be expectant. Not “I expect and it may not happen.” No, that's the first harvest of the Resurrection; we are all going to follow that harvest. There's only one criteria, that you remain connected in faith and trust in Christ. We will all be in that harvest. So it's important to understand, or if you want to say, “If He's the Firstfruits, we will be the harvest,” that is the expectancy of the hope that's promised to the believer. Now the apostle Paul also wrote, “He was delivered for our offenses, raised for our justification.” So God laid upon Him, you've heard me say this before, all the iniquity of us all, and it would not have been a finished work had He not, had God the Father not laid that all upon the Son. As for Christ, the law had no further claim to urge penalty or to exact. Hence, He could be raised up from the dead to take His life again. Remember, He said, “I take my life, no one takes it from me.” So even though; see, these are the things that I, sometimes I have to stop and just scratch my head.

Jesus said, “I take my life, I lay it down, I can pick it up again,” essentially. So it makes no sense to me when I hear our Jewish brothers and sisters get very offended when we talk about the act of crucifying Christ. And the reality is, if you think about it, Christ had to die one way or another. If, if His plan, what He says, something's wrong with the world and only His death could fix it, He had to die one way or another. And it always comes down to this, people with lack of understanding will get very offended when we say the religious leaders basically urged Pilate, and the religious leaders were the ones kind of angling for this. Back to my message and my notes here; like the wave offering, waved to be accepted for the people by God, I'd say that Christ also became the wave offering, not accepted by God, but accepted for us by God. There's that little addition that makes everything count. The Firstfruits was the earnest of the upcoming harvest, a pledge that the harvest would be gathered, and there's also a special set time for that, that God says, “And this is harvest time.” So, if we want to talk about this particular Firstfruits, we can't, in this particular subject, we cannot not talk about the Resurrection, because that is how we connect to the New Testament over and over again.

And several times you'll, you'll hear me mention, especially about it, the apostle Paul will mention Firstfruits. So, it's important to understand the connection there starts at the Resurrection. And if you remember the only sign when they came to Him, they said, “Give us a sign. He said, “There'll be no sign except the sign of Jonah,” which was to say, “three days and three nights,” or at least being in the giant fish's belly, only to be spewed out alive, which if you think about it, we're not going to take this too far to the extreme. But that was Christ basically saying, “You want to know what My guarantee is? Now, your guarantee is Firstfruits. Mine is the sign of Jonah.” And you can take that however you want, but Jesus to us, Jesus is the new covenant. He's not just representing a covenant; Jesus is the new covenant, much like the old when it was given, a promise that God would make good on His word, so here Christ is telling these people, basically, “The only sign you're going to get is the Resurrection,” which Paul calls Christ “the firstfruits of them that slept”" He's the first of his kind.

So forgive me for making a circle here, but just as we are connected to the first Adam in our fallen condition, because of nature, condition, etc, we are indeed condemned. It's a death sentence, being born in Adam, in the first Adam, but being born again into the second Adam or the last Adam, which is Christ, brings life. It is the, we'll call it the reconciling or the making right, what was in the beginning, we have now access to the Father by this avenue, the one named Jesus Christ. And not only that, not just access, but the promise. This is the whole amazing thing, in my opinion, about studying these set times. See, these people didn't have a promise of eternal life or immortality. They didn't have that promise. They knew that the first parents had given it away.

We have that promise though, which makes wanting to know about this Firstfruits. As I said, you can talk about the giving part of it, the component of giving, which is important. But I'd like to start with the most important, which is what, why we're here: “If Christ has not risen, our faith is vain.” And I'm not interested in having the discussion with people. Let me just say it now, so I get it out of the way and, and you know, you can be angry with me later if you want, or you can be angry with me now. I do at both.

That's what makes you a Christian; you're following Christ, you're learning about Him. It's like saying, “Yeah, my family.” Well, if you spend time with them and you live under the same roof or your blood, born blood, or; but there has to be a connection there to say that. You're not going to go to a stranger out there on the street and say, “Ah, that's my, that's my family over there.” That person's going to be looking at you and saying, “Call 8-1-1.” Not 9-1-1, 8-1-1.

Do you know what that is? 8-1-1 is the number you call before you dig a hole, courtesy of the power company. All right, so what makes the difference here? These people didn't have the promise of Resurrection, but we were given that. Christ said, “I need, A) to go away that I might send the Holy Spirit.” Number two, He had to go away showing basically that this was the pattern planned by the Father. His public ministry would give enough time, demonstrate enough miracles, explain enough about why He came. And then the rest was left back, if you think about it, the rest was left back with humankind, “Now you go out there, you teach, you go make disciples, you go make learners of every nation.” He didn't say, “I'll come back and I'll do that work for you.” He said, “Now you go out and do it.” Just as the first Adam was told to go and tend and till the earth, we in the second or last Adam are still tending and tilling the earth, but it's in the human form that we do it, not working and laboring for the ground.

So there's a lot of, I'm sorry, just a lot of confusion. It's very frustrating for me because I find people, even some who have a good intention, would like to tell you that, “You know, if you come on Easter, it's enough.” That's just a show. How would you like to be married to somebody and you only show, you only come home once a year? It's kind of like that, okay? I don't think that's a marriage, by the way; anyway, enough of my opinions here. So we know, by the way, why Paul wrote, “For we know that when he shall appear, we shall be like him,” because we shall be like Him. That is the promise of Firstfruits, and this is why this is so vitally important. The same Spirit of God that opened up the believer's spiritual eyes, that raises us from the death of sin and the life of righteousness in Christ, descends upon a lifeless body.

Now the Spirit's already in the person, but there's also that, what I call the, that the helping Spirit; and don't quote me on this, I'm just trying to make this as clear pictorially as possible, that takes the final, final claim on what is inside the believer. So that means whatever the person's person was, plus the Spirit of God. You remember, I taught on this many years, the part payment, the arabon, it's called in the Greek. Now that ticket is turned in for the whole person, not just, “Hey, I tag you with my Spirit because you belong to Me,” but the whole individual. That means everything in my memory bank, all that I━not this shell, but everything that I am at the point of death basically is released with the Spirit to be with God until a new body, until the time that a new body will be granted to every single believer in Christ. So here's the kind of, we'll call it the litmus test.

I'm curious to know how many people actually believe, don't answer me; I'm curious to know how many people actually believe what I just said because you know, people actually believe that it's very clear to me that we deceive ourselves all day long. You know, you, you, you can be a biohacker, you can be engaged in fitness, eat the cleanest diet, have the best mental health. And when God says it's your time, it's your time. You don't get to bargain. You don't get to plea deal. It is what it is. So this is what is all equally baffling. If you knew and understood, which I hope that every creature that's born on the earth can come to understand and know that there's a terminus to life.

Don't think I'm talking like the grim reaper. This is actually a message rooted in extreme hope and certainty of what's said here that I wouldn't be looking at that day and saying, “My God, no, help me for I'm not ready to go.” No, when that time comes, the expectancy, because I've known; I'm sorry to say this, it's going to sound a little bit funny when I say this, but I've known the Firstfruit for a long time.

And I'm not trying to be blasphemous when I say that. So if I've known Him for a long time and I've built my relationship on that, then when I come to that hour, that moment, I have the expectancy and it's not something that may or may not happen. This either happened, He either died and rose up or He didn't. Now that, I think we've settled in many messages on the Resurrection. So if a person has settled that and you believe that this is absolutely true, that a man, all-man/all-God died, was put to death and rose from the dead, then the expectancy for you and for me should be just like these children of Israel with the Firstfruit of the harvest. They went in there looking for the choicest and the best, presenting it first to the priest as a wave of offering and presented to the Lord with expectancy, that the rest of the harvest, not━and expectancy is a bad word because it leans towards, is there a possibility that it may not be as good as the things that we offer to God, but in fact it's the promise that what we rendered to God at the first, the rest of it, it's putting God first, God takes care of the rest of the rest, but the rest will be just as bountiful and just as good.

And that's why it's important to make these connections between those Old Testament saints and we who believe in Christ, we who faith and trust Christ for our salvation. So I'm going to try and paint a little picture here that gives some understanding because there's a lot, you know, in these feasts there's a lot to think about. Of course there is the sowing of seed, the caring for, ultimately the harvest that would be reaped. And I can tell you as someone who has just recently started growing a lot of food, it's hit and miss. You plant a seed and you can hope and pray, but trust me, the passage says, “Thou shall not kill,” I've probably killed a couple of hundred plants of late, okay? Some people have that green thumb and some people don't.

But imagine this is, you can't just go down to Publix or Vons. You're in the desert, wherever you are, this is your food supply. This is, if it's messed up, you're all going to starve. I want you to think of it in that respect. So going to get those, planting the seeds, taking care to tend and then seeing the first harvest, the first thing that comes out of the ground would be almost, silly, but miraculous. And if the rest of the crop came out like the first part, that'd be even more miraculous, but that's the promise of what God basically was saying, “Put Me first, I'll bless and take care of the rest.” Now the prosperity people get a hold of this and they milk, manipulate, and twist the heck out of that verse to make it mean something that it doesn't.

And you're never going to hear me talk to you about something like that because I don't do that. That's not what God promises either. God's blessings, if you're really interested, you've probably received more and I've probably received more in terms of blessings than most people I know, and they're not tangible. They're not tangible. To be able to stay in the faith. Look, we're living in an age of crisis and chaos and craziness. To be able to stay connected in faith, still look unto Him, still have the sense that I belong to Him no matter what's going on in the world I'm okay because He's got me and I've got Him! Now at the temple time, because remember it said, “When you come into the land,” so I'm going to jump to the temple time. But at the temple time, messengers of the Sanhedrin, those dirty rats, they would go out from Jerusalem on the evening of the feast and they would bind all of the tall standing corn and bundle it to make it easy to be taken up.

See, they had all these little ways of getting around God's rules and regulations and this is one of them by the way, it's kind of interesting. And no wonder why God said, “Enough.” If you keep trying to find ways to sneak around God's back, I think God eventually is saying, “I saw all of it. I didn't just see one time, I saw it all, you children of Israel, you,” all right? Sometimes it's hard to say what you want to say. All right, later at the time of the temple, the grain would be threshed with rods so that the barley corns were not injured. After this it would be parched over an open flame, winnowed in the wind, and that would remove the chaff. Finally the barley corn would be milled and put to an extensive sifting process until it was sifted finely. And to show you how; sorry, how nutty this was, according to the writings in the Talmud, the sifting would go on and on and on and on and on and on until a temple inspector/priest could plunge their hands into the flour, remove the hand without any flour adhering, and then it would be ready.

But I mean the procedure that they did just went on and on and like overkill. But anyway, that, that's their business, not mine. So the sixteenth of Nisan, the Firstfruits were presented to the Lord, an omer of barley, which would equal approximately five pints, was mixed with three quarters of a pint of olive oil and a small amount of frankincense was sprinkled upon it. This was the Firstfruits offering. It was then waved before the Lord by the priests in accordance with Leviticus 23:11-13. Firstfruits was a national observance, not just a singular. So each family at this set time would have to bring their Firstfruits. Every family, one set, one set offering for each family unit, right? So you're not; if you have five people in the family, five people aren't offering Firstfruits.

It's offering from that household, from that family. We have a clearer picture recorded for us by the time of the temple than we do in the tabernacle because it clearly tells us that it says, “When ye enter into the land,” they had not yet entered into the land. And if we were looking at what happened at the time of the temple, there would have been a lot of buzzing, a lot of mulling around, a lot of chatter going on right outside of the temple with people probably repeating Psalm 150 and verse 1, “Praise God in His sanctuary.” Perhaps on the inside you might hear sounds of Psalm 30 being sung out, if you will, “I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou have lifted, you have lifted me up, and have not let my foes rejoice over me.” Essentially there would be some type of psalm before entering and then upon entrance, something worshipful and joyous to the Lord.

That's how they would do it. In the court of the priest, the flames would be seen dancing feverishly from the altar in a trail of smoke that would be ascending. In the court of the Israelites, a steady stream of men could be seen on the steps of the temple, presenting their offerings to the priest. So if you get the whole picture, you know, we tend to maybe have images of things, but we tend to think of the temple really does give the fullest embodiment of this, people lined up with their offerings on the steps waiting to get in. I mean that's pretty powerful if you can imagine and envision what I'm talking about. Now today's modern Judaism, Firstfruits are not offered because there is no temple. Only a ritual survives today of counting the days, perhaps marking them off on a calendar. And this is where, again, I'm going to say things that are controversial, but I'll just say them.

Because there's no temple and there's therefore no priest, but why would you not offer an offering? See, this is where I get a little bit like, okay, there's no more temple for you, but in this day and age where there's synagogues, okay, and there's places of worship, if you are going to be slaying saber-tooth tigers, right? Does everybody know what I mean when I say that? Okay, good. Because if I have to explain it, I will; I don't want anybody to go, “What the hell is she talking about, saber-toothed tigers?” They're extinct, okay? No, there's one at the back of the room. So my point is this, it's mind-boggling to me that Christians and Jews are reading the same book, and the book didn't say, “Now you'll stop.” Okay, I get it, at the fall of Jerusalem, everything ceased. But now you've got places of worship, so why, why wouldn't you do that? “Oh, because we don't live in an agrarian society anymore,” okay, but there's other ways to present Firstfruits, and we've exercised them here for probably at least 40 years.

So there's a lot of things. I don't know, is this as selective, how we're going to worship? Do we, do we engage in selectivity? How do we decide what we worship and what we don't? What we say, “Oh, we don't do that anymore. We just mark it on the calendar, but we don't do that anymore.” I don't understand. And don't, you try to understand because it won't make sense to you either. So first things, first things in general, are very important to God. If you remember, just take the passage of the children of Israel in Egypt's bondage, the firstborn.

So when we think about firsts, that's important. And the first, when I speak of Firstfruits, yes, the harvest is one, but the Firstfruits, first things, Christ coming out of the grave, I'd say, “Put these two things on a very equal plane and understand,” and this is what I think is very important. First things with God matter, and I think they still matter today. Not so much as you're firstborn versus your thirdborn, or if you; whatever it is that's first, but the concept of putting God first.

That still matters to God. See, there are things I can say to you, God has not changed. It's we who have changed, and that's a big problem because I don't think, if people are not being taught a template; that doesn't━don't be a box checker, but if you “put God first, He takes care of the rest” is a concept that basically summarizes Firstfruits. And the promise is to expect no less than what was offered could, in this case, let's say, whatever your crop was; that the rest of the crop would be likewise.

There wouldn't be bugs, it wouldn't be destroyed, it wouldn't be rotted; fill in the blanks, okay? Now in the New Testament, there are no less than seven mentions of Firstfruit, but they deal directly with Christ or with followers of Christ. So the apostle Paul spoke of Epaentus as the firstfruit of Achaia or Achaia in Romans 16:5. He also refers to a Stephanas in 1 Corinthians 16:15. And the difference, because they're both, both being referred to as the firstfruits of Achaia, but one of them is of an individual, the other is of Stephanas, of he and his household, which also must be understood like this, because a lot of it was church in the home.

So it could have meant not Stephanas and his family alone, but the church around him in his house as well. So that's ambiguous, we can't know exactly, but one is to an individual, one is a family. Paul also used the Firstfruits in referencing what was pinched from the dough to teach that if the Firstfruit is holy, then the lump is also holy. He says that in Romans 11:16. By this he means if God chose whomever He chose, say Abraham or Jacob, then the whole lump, that means the whole, all the children of Israel, let's; if we're using that reference, okay? Paul also used the term Firstfruits in relation to the Holy Spirit and the fruits that are manifested within the believer. So all of these components are important, because what they paint is a picture of the whole Christian, of what we are to be focusing on as believers. We're not to be focused on, you know, a thousand different things.

Our focus is, look unto Him, the Author and Finisher of salvation, Jesus Christ. And if we're going to talk about how that focus remains, it's kept by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps us, guides us, teaches us, instructs us, help, helps us to even learn while we are being taught. You know, I was reading a message in my office and the message said, “I finally found you again. I lost track of you for several years.” But this person also went on to say how when they were watching, they tuned in and they tried to understand, and it was like I was speaking a foreign language, and now they've learnt more in the last six months.

And the person says in their message, “Maybe I just; it wasn't God's time yet for me.” And that's exactly it. I know because many of you are just like that. I'm like that. I've shared with you my anger. Why couldn't God have opened my eyes sooner, right? But that was part of God's plan. He knew the timing to be harvested, at least to be picked or opened up, right? Because that's what He does. He knows how to do it. We talk about the deposit of the Spirit in each believer. I just referenced as a type of Firstfruit. And much later in the book of Revelation, we'll encounter the 144 preachers of righteousness who will be sealed just prior to the opening of the seventh seal; all these numbers are important, 12,000 from each tribe sealed from God's wrath at the very start of the day of the Lord.

And that expression alone becomes important because these 144,000 will be preaching to people and there will be what we'll call a final harvest, an end harvest. That will be it. That's the final call, like you're in a bar, “Last call for alcohol,” “Last call for salvation happening right here with 144,000 peppered throughout the earth. That's it. That's your last call.” And I, I would really love for people to read that passage and don't read it like it's a cartoon or it's some caricature that maybe will happen. No, that's, that's what God said is going to happen in the future. And by the way, we're, we're far enough along in the world to see what's going on to know that most of the stuff that is being foretold of in the future, for us is coming to pass. So, I don't know, you know, when God has a pretty good track record of, of making things that he says happen, happen, you've got my attention. I don't need to be convinced or coerced into believing what is blatantly obvious.

So these 144,000 are called Firstfruit. They will be the guarantee that God has not cast away all His people or the ones that didn't answer immediately forever. But rather that God will purify the remnant, just as was prophesied by Daniel, in Daniel's seventieth week. Now I know I'm probably saying stuff that some may not be familiar with and that's okay, stick around and we'll eventually get to it. But this is how the apostle Paul makes a bold claim when he says, “All Israel will be saved.” That is in Romans 11:26. If you read that passage carefully, it makes perfect sense that he's talking about a final harvest that will occur.

It makes perfect sense to me. And I, I hate to sound redundant and repetitive, but in the book of Zechariah, it explicitly says, “They will look upon him whom they have pierced and they will mourn,” meaning they will recognize that the very Savior that they said is “A fraud, it's a lie, it's not true. And we're waiting for our Messiah who's not your Messiah” will go, “Uh-oh, my bad. He was the one all along.” Can you imagine that? I mean, I can, I actually have to feel sorry for people who have been so closed in their thinking that they couldn't read the Old and see the description of the One who came in the New.

It's Him; there aren't two Messiahs, there's only One. He was here and He's coming back and God's going to give those people who rejected Him a second chance, which is why when we read passages that talk about all the people coming to the mount to worship, again, don't think that's a caricature. Why is Israel such a big deal? For the right reasons, not all the ones that a lot of people in ministry try to make it a Zionist movement or they try; no, because the Bible says, “In this little swath of land, basically where I started I will finish.” Don't, don't get more hung up on the land or the people, and the people who are there now won't even be there, likely when He returns. And I won't tell you why either. And it has nothing to do, and it has nothing to do with the rapture either. So leave that one alone. The Firstfruits, like Israel's other springtime feasts, has its fulfillment, fulfillment in Christ's first coming, but perhaps the more important emphasis should be, but now Christ is risen from the dead, has become the Firstfruit of those who have fallen asleep.

And we know that Jesus rose from the dead━I told you I'd be repeating a lot, which I'm doing━which makes the fulfillment of that feast as it's applied to Him. Just put a period there because He did come out of the grave. The Resurrection is a guarantee of harvest of souls that will be like Christ. The fact is that there is life after death, not just we just cease being.

Daniel says something pretty profound. Remember, Daniel, he's not known for these things, but his 70 weeks and all the messages within his book are New Testament, or as New Testament as you can get. He says, “And many who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame, and some to everlasting contempt,” which means all. Check this out. The resurrection or the resurrected life if you will; oh, you're going to love this, all will be resurrected. All. But not all will be resurrected with Christ. Would you like me to say that again? All will be resurrected, but not all will be resurrected with Christ. Some will be resurrected to eternal damnation. That's also resurrected life that lives on in perpetuity in torment. “Oh, I don't like that.” Well, I didn't write those words, so don't, don't come complaining to me. But, you know, even Christ said something that was pretty shocking in His day.

He said, “Do not marvel for the, for the hour is coming in which all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come forth, some to resurrected life and others to condemnation.” That's John 5. So even out of the mouth of our Lord, He even says this. Don't think everybody gets a ticket and you're all going to paradise. Some are going to get a ticket to “Coffee Break's Over”; that, the ones that laughed, I know how long you've been around, okay? I know where you live. So there's always been two parts to the harvest, and there will always be two parts to the harvest, the wheat and the chaff.

And that sums it up for you. Some will inherit and receive eternal life, dwell with God forever, and some will inherit eternal punishment. And those that belong to Him, that have trusted Him, that have looked to Him their entire time of knowing Him; and that could be a day, a year, a lifetime, they will be resurrected in the same fashion, the same way as He was. So let me take a minute now to wrap this up because I'm really out of time. The main reason for preaching these messages is to demonstrate God didn't just set out in the Old to put together a whole bunch of nonsensical, ceremonial, “Now, these are these routines we do at a set time.” They were all pointing to the future.

They were all pointing to Christ. I explained to you how Christ; we talked about the Sabbath, and we are Sabbathing in Christ daily. I talked to you about the Passover when God said, “Celebrate this, basically in perpetuity as a memorial.” Well, we are, because how could you not do two things? Remember the children of Israel's deliverance out of Egypt's bondage, and then remember your own deliverance out of this world flesh and devil bondage. Now your eyes are open and you can be able to celebrate and to rejoice and to be glad in the Lord. So when I say, without, as I said earlier, without the Old Testament, we wouldn't have the full picture of why it matters.

And if you want to put kind of the exclamation mark, Paul says in Romans 8:29, essentially that we are the first, in terms of brethren or sistern, we are the first of many, the body of believers. So it becomes clear that the church of Jesus Christ must continue until the final harvest of souls comes. Now I cannot tell you how long that time will be. The Bible's very clear, no one knows the day of the hour, but there are signposts.

There are things we can see happening in the world, and wars and rumors of wars. That doesn't mean the end is here. Trust me, when there are definitive signposts along the way that must happen that will tell you the time is nearer and nearer and nearer when these things happen. Some of these have not happened yet. That's why I said to you, there's a lot of craziness going on. There's a lot of weird stuff going on.

There's a lot of scary stuff going on, but the end is not tomorrow. Don't, don't walk out here going, “Oh my God, we're doomed tomorrow, tomorrow.” It's not like that. And I'd say to you, if there's anything that should be a takeaway from this message, and I'm, I don't engage in the antics of evangelists, but if anything is a takeaway, especially for people who are not so familiar in listening to me, it would be take the time now while you have the time. The Bible says redeem the time. Take the time now to begin learning about Him, learning about who He is, His ways, His message, His words, not to study them and repeat them like a rote computer, but that His words and Christ may dwell richly in you, that when the day comes, you're not scrambling to figure out what you need to do. You know what; you've already done it, you've already taken care of business. And I'm sorry to say it like that, but just to be as colloquial as possible so there is no misunderstanding.

It is, it is truly, it confounds me that people, if, if people say, “Well, it must be in the last days,” or “It must be close,” well, then why aren't you pressing in closer with God? That's going to be the thing that keeps all of us, I hate to tell you, sane, calm, and with the clarity of vision to know what to do while the stuff is hitting the fan. So I would say to you in, in an age which people don't seem to be that concerned, the church is very important, not the building, but as the Greek calls it, a people that belong to the Lord.

And if we who are trusting Christ, and I'm going to say it this way, you know there's a Scripture that says, “Taste and see that the Lord is good.” We have been partakers of that goodness. We have tasted what the Lord has in store for those that trust Him. Then it is indeed just like the Firstfruit, we can say, “This offering of Christ stands,” in, in terms of our version of time, “as the expectancy promised,” not, “I'm not sure it's not going to happen,” for you and for me.

Put a period there. Don't be trying to figure out “How much more, what more can I do?” That's the other problem that people engage in, “What more can I do?” Now, one last footnote here and then I'm done. We have a lot of people that will give a Firstfruit offering. And listen, I'm really a strange bird when it comes to money, and I say that because I believe that when we read the New Testament there's great clarity and understanding. God does love a hilarious giver. God loves the spirit of the person; we're not just talking about money, we're talking about somebody who says, “Sure, I'll help you out.

Sure, I'll give you a hand,” that generous nature. So when I say to you, Firstfruits is not just about everything that I've talked about, but it is also about understanding, presenting the first of whatever comes into your hand, and you can't just, where, where do you give it to God? Well, you can't, but the Bible says you bring your tithes and your offerings to the storehouse, wherever you get your spiritual food. And I still believe that's a good way of saying, “I'm putting God first”" That, that's like something that, I hate to say it like this, but it actually costs you something. And I had to learn this from our good friend, Ray Sidney. He said, “You know, you shouldn't give anything away for free,” he was referring to the people in Japan, “because then they don't think it has any value.” And I thought, “That's kind of odd, but okay, if that's your, if that's your mindset.” But if you think about it in God's book, for how much it costs for God to send and give His only begotten Son, and we who take it so casually, I think the concept of Firstfruits is brilliant, because what it does is it says, you know, we don't work to get in, we don't labor in works of the flesh, but it does say, “I'm, I'm giving my first to God, which is my best and my first.” And that could be in dedicating your child, could be any number of things, but I'm not specifically talking about Firstfruits in giving right now.

And I'd say to you, there's nothing wrong with that, as long as the person's doing it for the right reasons. Don't give with strings attached. Don't give and say, “Yes, but I, I'm hoping that if I do this, this will happen.” If you're doing Firstfruits for the reason I said, which is putting God first and He takes care of the rest, then I applaud you and I think it's a good thing.

Any other motives for doing it are the wrong motives and I don't agree with them. Now, I know that's a little bit strange, the way I just worded that, but what I'm trying to tell you is, I'm the person who's known for, I think in all of ministry, there, there might only be one person that does this and it's, it's this person right here who sends back offerings to people who don't get it. And I'm talking about people who have been abusive to me in the past or they think they're going to tell me how to run the church or how to conduct or whatever. I don't want your money. We're not; this is not that type of church.

I'm not here to take your money or grab your money or do anything with your money, because it's not your money anyway; it's God's, ha, ha. But what I am saying to you is I can give you structured ideas that if they're carried out right, they, I believe are good in God's eyes and if they're carried out, like anything else, if they're carried out for the wrong reasons, like people who give to get, if that's your mindset, you're not giving to God.

You're doing some investment scheme or you're doing some trading deal with God. But if you're really giving, this is God's, the rest God lets me keep and He puts His stamp of approval on it. He blesses me for that very reason. Now, I can't tell you what else to do, but I can tell you in these feasts as we've been looking at them, I love this one in particular because going back to the whole message I just preached, it tells me if you and I have that same expectancy, like those people that took the first of their crop, and we should have that expectancy, then there's no reason in the world why whatever we face, whatever we deal with, whatever sickness comes under our dwelling, whatever pitfalls may happen, whatever this country goes to hell in a handbasket, which it's halfway there right now, but I've connected myself to God, I'm not letting go.

I'm going to be just like Jacob/Israel. I may be a little bit crippled right now, but I'll be God-damned if I let go because I know He's the only one that can take me through this. He's the only one that can take you through all of this. So wouldn't you, you'd think you'd want to do your best. In that respect the Firstfruits speaks volumes to me. I hope it speaks to you. We'll continue on with these, but for today that's my message. You have been watching me, Pastor Melissa Scott, live from Glendale, California at Faith Center.

Christianity Is More than a Testimony

foreign [Music] I wanted to say I appreciate letters anything that comes my way somebody taking the time to sit down and write by whatever format I don't care it means the world to me but I also take the time when I see something maybe twisted out of context to correct it so here is one this came in a letter from a King's house and King style that looks relatively new and I'm grateful for you writing me but the person says I know we are not supposed to give testimonies I never said that what I said is testimonies cannot listen what happened to me may not happen to you but in the big picture let me just say this every person who calls themselves a Christian has a testimony make no mistake about that okay if you say oh I don't have one it's because you're too busy focused on the person who stands up who says well I used to be this and now I'm that and you don't understand what it means to say a sinner saved by grace and looking at oneself we all have a testimony the reason why I am against testimony in church is because that is personal subjective to the person and my experiences are not yours so I'm not against testimony per se simply not in a public form and not added to a church service I believe all it does most of the time when people stand up and say what the Lord's done for them usually it creates a sense of well hmm the Lord didn't do that for me or I was never like that when in fact every single person who calls on the name of Jesus Christ has a testimony so I want to clear that up [Music] [Music] coming to this house

don't say you are a Christian don't parse words with me don't play games with me you are a Christian when you are following Christ period you're not a Christian because you come to church one day out of the year you're following Christ and following Christ doesn't necessarily mean you come to church either how's that for putting it the way it is but you're following Christ which means you are studying him and him is not a pronoun limited to one book or one half of a book it's the whole thing that's what makes you a Christian.
