Letters to an Asexual #59 (“You’re not qualified to discuss asexuality. You’re not a scientist!”)

This is #59 of a series in which I read correspondence between me and people who have questions, comments, or–more often–misconceptions about asexuality. This Letter is a series of comments left on an article I had published in Psychology Today. The commenter attacked my credibility, kept asking the magazine to remove me for being unqualified (as if they were reading the comments), made a bunch of really ignorant comments about Tumblr and liberals and SJWs, and accused me of having a known history of mental illness, depression, self harm, and other issues I . . . literally have never had. The two articles I’ve written for Psychology Today are linked below: “Asexuality and the Health Professional”: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/the-invisible-orientation/201501/asexuality-and-the-health-professional “Asexuality is Not a Diagnosis” https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/the-invisible-orientation/201503/asexuality-is-not-diagnosis (This second one is the one that JS wrote these comments on.)
