As Twitchy reported earlier, even lapdog Rick Klein has admitted that President Obama’s promise of keeping your health care plan if you like it was “never possible to keep.” So it was strange to hear the president talk about “impossible promises” in his 10-minute appearance in the White House briefing room this afternoon.
Those impossible promises, though, were promises made by Republicans to the “wacko birds” that they could stop the flaming train wreck that is the Affordable Care Act. As as we’ve heard said before about Obamacare, you can’t stop it. Promise or threat? You decide.
The president really should look for work in a movie theater, because he’s a master of projection. You see, the far-right wing of the GOP is trying to save face over an impossible promise they made to their base. We’re not sure who it was who promised to repeal Obamacare, though, although some like Sen. Ted Cruz vowed to speak against it until he couldn’t stand anymore. Now it’s time for the president to come through on those promises of lower premiums and freedom to keep your health care plan (if it isn’t canceled, that is).

http://twitter.com/#!/AmericanRanter/status/384787353773936640Today on “Hardball,” serious journalist Chris Matthews likened Paul Ryan’s earliest appearances on the stump with Mitt Romney as “a one night stand” and said that their recent campaign appearances together mean they’re “dating again.” We wonder if Matthews will give the Romney/Ryan gay innuendo a rest if we point out that he’s actually ripping off Roseanne Barr’s old material. No? Well, let’s see if Matthews’ version is any funnier.
Did Chris Matthew just say he couldn't figure out whether Ryan or Romney is "on top" in their arranged marriage?

Hahaha! @hardball_chris mentions Romney/Ryan marriage not working then says "hard to figure out who is on top" Lol! #Hardball

Chris Matthews just asked if Romney or Ryan was on top. I'm going with Romney. Ryan has that hungry bottom look!

Pro-tip: Gay-baiting isn’t funny, and it’s especially ill-advised from someone who rhapsodizes about the thrill he feels up his leg when he catches a glimpse of Barack Obama, the “perfect father, the perfect husband, the perfect American.“

The Empire State Building Friday night was lit with the colors of South Africa’s flag in honor of Nelson Mandela. Several tweeters captured images of the sight.

There are few things more beautiful than listening to thunder crack and watching lightning dance outside your window. But when a thunderstorm rolls over the tallest building on the planet, the effect is even more amazing than you could possibly imagine.
The footage below, taken in Dubai, captures an explosive lightning strike over the Burj Khalifa, which stands 2,722 feet tall. Fortunately for us, Instagram user Fazza decided to share his chilling, beautiful video with the rest of the world.
Interestingly enough, the keen-eyed photographer who caught this shocking spectacle also goes by the name of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the crown prince of Dubai! Even royalty can’t deny the allure of nature.
