She Wrote A Letter To God After Her Dog Died. The Reply She Got Will Make You Cry.

A 14 year-old dog named Abbey was the best friend of a 4 year-old named Meredith Scrivener. Whenever Abbey passed away from old age, the little girl was devastated. Meredith was so distraught, she told her parents that she wanted to write a letter to God. Together, she and her mother wrote a letter… and then, they received an incredible response.

Two weeks later, the family returned home to find a package wrapped in gold on their front porch addressed to “Mer” and signed “God, and one of his special angels.”

To her (and her mother’s) surprise, days later after mailing the letter Meredith received a reply.

Dear God, Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick.

I hope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and to swim. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her, you will know that she is my dog. I really miss her.

For the past 20 years, a man named Roque “Rocky” Abalsamo did something every day that is simply heartbreaking. In 1993, his wife of 35 years, Julia “Julita” Echeverria Abalsamo, passed away. Ever since that day, he diligently sat by her grave in St. Joseph Cemetery in Boston, MA. He didn’t eat. He didn’t drink. All Rocky did was brave the heat, rain, cold and snow to be by his wife’s side.

Rocky had been with Julita since 1937, and he never wanted to experience day without her.

The couple met in the 1930s in their native Buenos Aires. Rocky simply heard Julita talking to her friends and realized that he needed to know the person he heard, a woman full of so much love and goodness. Basically, since that moment, the two had been together. They lived a happy life together, marrying the spring after they had met. They had two children, who they eventually followed to the United States. Rocky and Julita had been married for 55 years when Julita needed heart surgery. She died due to complications after the procedure. Rocky was so distraught without her and needed to be close to his wife. That’s why he began his daily vigil next to her grave that would last more than two decades. In Boston, he was a local celebrity. He had visitors at the cemetery who would bring him clothes or food. Sometimes, they would just stop to talk. No matter how long the visit was, everyone who met him was moved by the love he had for his wife. Tragically, Rocky died on January 22nd at Stonehedge Health Care Center. He was 97 years-old and had been experiencing failing health for a while. She had to be horizontal her entire life, but Martha chose to keep the iron lung so she would still have her freedom in many ways. She was even able to write a book with the help of voice recognition software.

She was able to live at home with the help of caregivers.

Tragically, Martha passed away in 2009. She lived inside of an iron lung longer than anyone else. Her caregiver believed she was able to live in that situation for so long because of her strength and her strong desire to always keep learning.

Young Deer Stuck In a Gate Gets Rescued And Released Back Into The Wild.

This sweet deer had been trying to get from one field to another when it got stuck in between a fence post and a gate. Once caught, he was unable to wiggle himself free.

Luckily for the little deer, Simon Cowel (that’s right) of the UK’s Wildlife Aid Foundation was called for help and managed to get the deer loose quite quickly and without putting it through too much stress. Watch the incredible rescue below:

After inspecting its injuries, Simon determined they weren’t that serious and he wouldn’t need to take the deer back to the animal rescue center. The deer had already faced enough drama for the day and it was time to go home.
