If you thought the mainstream media’s fawning coverage of Hugo Chavez’ death was over the top, imagine the adulation it took to attend a candlelight vigil. So, who attended?

The Party for Socialism and Liberation, described in its Twitter bio as “a Marxist-Leninist Party organizing against Capitalism, Imperialism and all forms of oppression,” hoped Chavez’s death would inspire a revolution in the United States.

“Let us remember Hugo Chávez…A man who didn’t sleep, who fought…” (1/2) SF vigil, 3/5 twitter.com/PSL_SF/status/…

— PSL_SF (@PSL_SF) March 6, 2013

(2/2) “Let this sad moment reawaken our struggle for justice….We need a revolution here. One inspired by Chávez. ¡Hugo Chávez, presenté!”

— PSL_SF (@PSL_SF) March 6, 2013

The ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism) Coalition, “an anti-imperialist, anti-war org fighting against the war machine and all forms of oppression,” lit a few candles for the Venezuelan dictator.
