President Obama briefly took to the podium this afternoon to talk about how awesome it is that the Senate will be able to limit filibusters of executive and judicial nominees with a simple majority of 51.

The Founding Fathers would be appalled. They envisioned the United States as a constitutional republic. Our constitution was written to ensure that citizens are not at the mercy of the tyranny of the majority.

Of course, it’s important to keep in mind that President Obama has no intention of heeding the majority’s will if it’s inconvenient for him:

Hop to it, Mr. President. Do it for the majority.
