— Destinee Hooker (@destineehooker) August 12, 2012
After Brazil defeated the U.S. for the gold medal in women’s volleyball, Team USA volleyball player Destinee Hooker lashed out at her critics.
Looking back at her timeline provides a glimpse at some of the disrespectful comments that upset the volleyball star.
One Twitter user stated that Hooker and her teammates believed that they had already secured the gold medal before their match with Brazil:
@destineehooker You believed that you were the winners before the grand finale…
— Gutemberg (@GuttoBerg) August 12, 2012
Hooker denied it:
@GuttoBerg no we did not we never said anything like that. Don't ASSUME what you don't know
— Destinee Hooker (@destineehooker) August 12, 2012
A Brazilian Twitter user called Hooker a failure, despite the fact that she won a silver medal:
https://twitter.com/TiagoDeMelo_/status/234455239967772672
Hooker replied succinctly:
@TiagoDeMelo_ JERK!!!
— Destinee Hooker (@destineehooker) August 12, 2012
And this Twitter user mocked Hooker’s last name:
https://twitter.com/FrankoBoJr/status/234553193617571840
@FrankoBoJr @HarveySorrow wow how horrible are you
— Destinee Hooker (@destineehooker) August 12, 2012
Honestly, we admire your restraint. Despite his reputation for being the coolest man alive, the Vice President can still elicit boos. Sometimes, as with the NAACP, he’s booed for wrapping up a speech too early. Other times, it’s just for being Joe. Today, Joe Biden was just being Joe at the Army-Navy game, where many report jeers from both sides of the stadium.

Sigh.
As Twitchy reported, Howard “Scoop” Kurtz got himself in a bit of hot water over a story on Jason Collins and his coming out. You see, he got it totally wrong. Shockah!
The Daily Beast then gave Kurtz the boot; The irony was delicious.
Is it just me,or is something weird about Tina Brown parting ways with Howard Kurtz over factual errors?
— pcasey44 (@pcasey44) May 5, 2013
Zing!
This morning on CNN’s “Reliable Sources,” journos “grilled” Kurtz and he gave a mea culpa.

— Jay Rosen(@jayrosen_nyu) May 5, 2013
Correction to my earlier tweet: Kurtz devoted 15 mins to his grilling by @dylanbyers and @davidfolkenflik. That is one quarter of his show.

Why, indeed? But, hey, the Beltway media got some nice smug self-back-pats out of it. So, there’s that.

But that wasn’t about to stop President Prop-aganda from turning them into a photo op.
At this afternoon’s joint presser with Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan, President Obama found himself getting annoyed by the rain. The solution? Send in the Marines — to hold his umbrella. Now, granted, he has a history of umbrella issues:
