CPAC invitation calls MSNBC’s Chris Hayes ‘one of America’s leading conservative voices’

http://twitter.com/#!/chrislhayes/status/305298407298306048

As Twitchy reported, MSNBC’s Chris Hayes was invited to participate in a CPAC panel while gay conservative group GOProud was not. The stupid, it burns:

CPAC’s invitation letter to Chris Hayes referred to him as “one of America’s leading conservative voices.”

— Chris Hayes’ Bike (@JimmyPrinceton) February 23, 2013

Hayes appears to have received the same form letter as other invitees.

As one of America’s leading conservative voices, your participation in CPAC 2013 will be critical in our efforts to unite and energize conservatives.

But Hayes’ “leading conservative voice” is unlikely to make it to CPAC after all.

#CPAC invited @chrislhayes to participate at its annual conference. His response: on.msnbc.com/UUbBA8 #uppers

— msnbc (@msnbc) February 23, 2013

On @upwithchris just now, @chrislhayes said he will accept CPAC’s invitation IF CPAC drops its ban on GOProud’s sponsorship. #uppers #tcot

Update:

For those of you who need a reminder of who Chris Hayes is:

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes observes Memorial Day weekend: ‘I’m uncomfortable calling fallen soldiers heroes’; Update: More backpedaling fail

Heckuva job, CPAC!

Way to go, #CPAC. Give this @chrislhayes guy, et al, a club to beat on conservatives with. You’d make great French generals. #caring #TCOT

The Sickest Burns You’ll Find In Any Disney Movies. Boom, Roasted!

Watching Disney movies was probably part of your life at some point. Most of us remember a handful of them fondly from our childhood. However, there are some moments that you may not remember from those movies… but when I show you them, you’ll love those movies even more! There’s some pretty clever language hiding in those movies.

Disney had some great writers back in the day… and you probably didn’t catch what they were really saying when you first watched these movies. I know I didn’t.

1.) Think!

2.) I’m sure she made a lot of money doing so.

3.) Don’t care!

4.) Zing!

5.) Mythological burn!

6.) Not everyone can pull it off.

7.) I suppose so.

8.) Very direct.

9.) Guys are all the same.

10.) Funny, because he’s shorter than him.

11.) She must’ve never seen “Gossip Girl.”

12.) You know he’s got a big ego.

Eek: Kansas City Chiefs tweet ‘Panther crunch’ photo in wake of shooting

http://twitter.com/#!/Klarity_/status/274936816526831616

Earlier today, linebacker Jovan Belcher of the Kansas City Chiefs reportedly shot his girlfriend before committing suicide. At 1:00 p.m. ET, the team’s Twitter account sent out this tweet:

chiefs-tweet

The Chiefs are still scheduled to play the Panthers tomorrow.

Here’s the “Photo of the Day” that accompanied the tweet:

Who felt it was a good time in KC to tweet ANYTHING!? RT @kcchiefs Photo of the Day – PANTHER CRUNCH – ow.ly/i/1b9fd

— Marcel Picard (@marcelpicard) December 1, 2012

Owly Images

The tweet was quickly and quietly deleted. Was it a scheduled tweet?

Scheduled auto tweet? RT @kcchiefs: Photo of the Day – PANTHER CRUNCH – ow.ly/i/1b9fd More Photos – ow.ly/fEuQU

— Steve Giglio (@stevegiglio) December 1, 2012

If so, hopefully the Chiefs’ social media team has scheduled tweets turned off now. Although the Chiefs clearly have today’s tragedy occupying their minds right now, many fans were appalled.

Not a good look for the @kcchiefs account with their photo tweet. It’s probably scheduled and a lot going on, but still not a good look.

— David Lesky (@DBLesky) December 1, 2012

.@kcchiefs probably best if you guys .didn’t tweet. Looks really bad

— Adam Frecks (@AFFrecks) December 1, 2012

@kcchiefs do you really think that’s appropriate right now?

— syrup (@syrup46892544) December 1, 2012

@kcchiefs how can you tweet photos promoting tomorrow’s game right now? That’s pathetic. Whoever runs your Twitter account should be fired.

— Colby Higgins (@Colby_Higgins) December 1, 2012

@kcchiefs seriously? Horrific Tragedy Today and you send this out.Take a break. Coming from a family that has season tickets since 1968!

— Chicago Beer Company (@ChicagoBeerCo) December 1, 2012

Bad taste tweet of the day: RT @kcchiefs: Photo of the Day – PANTHER CRUNCH – ow.ly/i/1b9fd More Photos – ow.ly/fEuQU

— Harry Hawkins (@HarryHawkins) December 1, 2012

Update:

While immediate reaction was not very forgiving, some Twitter users are a lot more understanding.

@twitchyteam I think it’s terribly unfair to castigate #Chiefs for tweets they likely created & scheduled to auto-tweet before tragedy

— Seculuminesce (@L_Allen_) December 1, 2012

@twitchyteam I’m sure it was a scheduled tweet, and I’m sure twitter was the LAST thing on their minds today. @kcchiefs deserve a pass here.

What civil unrest? Kanye West and Kim Kardashian reportedly planning to wed in Egypt

http://twitter.com/#!/breaktimovement/status/353859743497977856

Yes, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are reportedly looking to getting married in Egypt. That’s so much more important than all of the other news coming out of that country.

http://twitter.com/#!/haythambibo/status/353941391736442880 http://twitter.com/#!/KKAlThani/status/353883227250896899 http://twitter.com/#!/NardinDerias/status/353927713515515904

Perhaps they are jealous of the attention Egypt is receiving?

It’s just another sideshow for the media to focus on.
