Sarah Palin thrilled the conservative crowd at the RightOnline conference in Las Vegas last night by joining the chorus of voices defending the freedom to blog. In her keynote address, the former Alaska governor called for an end to the vicious harassment and SWAT-ting of conservative bloggers.

After mocking the progressive campaign to silence Rush Limbaugh, Palin told the audience:
These are futile efforts, though, to get constitutional conservatives to sit down and shut up. And I know that some of you bloggers, oh, especially recently, are experiencing terrible harassment just because you dared report accurately about a convicted criminal who’s now funded by left-wing organizations. And you’re not alone, and the SWAT-ting must stop, and those responsible for the SWAT-ting must be held accountable by the law.
Twitchy founder/CEO Michelle Malkin also spoke about the dangerous tactics aimed at silencing bloggers who tell the truth about convicted terrorist Brett Kimberlin.
