The day following President Obama’s reelection, a pensive Rupert Murdoch seemed eager to find a comfortable position in a political landscape which doesn’t seem that much different, really. Compromise might be tough when opponents balk at the idea of an America split 50/50.

@rupertmurdoch : Country not 50-50, 50-48 at the moment. We know who won the prize!

— Chi-Chi Udeagu (@irunma) November 8, 2012

@rupertmurdoch Country 50-48, not 50-50. Electoral votes 332-206, not 269-269. There was a clear message and mandate given yesterday.

— Colin Savage (@savagecolin) November 8, 2012

Conservatives are very familiar by now with what “compromise” means, at least with a Democrat president in office; see also “bipartisanship” and “reaching across the aisle.”

@rupertmurdoch You mean the GOP must compromise, right?

— Alex Bowles (@alexqgb) November 8, 2012

@rupertmurdoch ok, but for the democrats compromising is when republicans cave, golden rule-no compromise with the leftis

— eugene georgiev (@levskich) November 8, 2012

@rupertmurdoch Wouldn’t you like that…compromise what?….our values. I don’t think so!

— Liberty LadyBug (@LibertyLadyBug) November 8, 2012

In August, Murdoch had joined with New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg in a push to convince Mitt Romney to campaign on easing immigration rules for Latinos, who are “naturally Republicans,” he said. Murdoch repeated the call today.

Must have sweeping, generous immigration reform,make existing law- abiding Hispanics welcome. Most are hard working family people.

— Rupert Murdoch(@rupertmurdoch) November 8, 2012

Speaking of the fiscal cliff, inflation and unmanageable debt reminds us of the many hard-working family people here legally and looking for work.

@rupertmurdoch @chriskkenny Me thinks Murdoch’s new found concern for Hispanics might have something to do with the election result.

— Suren Senat (@suren_senat) November 8, 2012

And here we go. About-face RT @rupertmurdoch Must have sweeping, generous immigration reform. Murdoch , non sequitur .If they are illegal they start as NOT law abiding.

— GBIC (@The_GBIC) November 8, 2012

@rupertmurdoch why don’t we eliminate southern border and merge our country with Mexico. Then Obama can send food stamps down there.

— Mitch west (@mitchwest77) November 8, 2012

@rupertmurdoch Generous? How generous are you talking? My ancestors didn’t get a “generous” immigration package & life was a lot harder then

— KC (@Elky305) November 8, 2012

@rupertmurdoch After we secure the border, cut out anchor babies and prosecute/fine employers of illegal immigrants…then YES.

— Pistols At Dawn (@SmokingPistols) November 8, 2012

@rupertmurdoch Legal, law-abiding, hardworking, family-people immigrants are not the problem, it’s illegal aliens severely strain an economy

— Stronger America (@StrongerAmerca) November 8, 2012

@rupertmurdoch that was quick!
