It’s just\u00a0 that you need to pay little attention as to how\u00a0\u00a0 it functions. You will see there is a distinction\u00a0 between what is you and what you have gathered. Well, see the way the question is asked and also\u00a0 the way normally it’s addressed is, people think\u00a0\u00a0 there is something called as negative thought and\u00a0 positive thought. They want to remove the negative\u00a0\u00a0 thoughts and have only positive thoughts. For\u00a0 such people, I would ask them to just experiment\u00a0\u00a0 for ten, fifteen seconds. Let them forcefully\u00a0 remove one thought from their mind. For example,\u00a0\u00a0 next ten seconds, just don’t think of\u00a0 a monkey. Try not to think of a monkey\u00a0\u00a0 for next ten seconds \u2013 you will see, you will\u00a0 be full of monkeys. So, what I am saying is,\u00a0\u00a0 this is the nature of your mind, because\u00a0 in this mind, all the three pedals are\u00a0\u00a0 throttle \u2013 there is no brake, there is no clutch\u00a0 \u2013 whatever you touch, it will only go faster.00:01:26<\/a> In this kind of mind, people have been taught\u00a0 from moral teachers and religious teachers,\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cDo not think about bad things.\u201d Well,\u00a0 since then, it’s been a full-time job.\u00a0\u00a0 So, there is no way you can handle the mind like\u00a0 this, this doesn’t need any great enlightenment.\u00a0\u00a0 If you spend two minutes with your eyes\u00a0 closed, you will realize, you cannot do\u00a0\u00a0 anything forcefully with this mind. So, \u2018I want to\u00a0 remove negative thoughts,\u2019 do not ever go in this\u00a0\u00a0 direction, because what you want to remove will\u00a0 become your quality, always you will be on it.\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cSo, what should I do?\u201d The thing is this \u2013\u00a0 without understanding the fundamental mechanism of\u00a0\u00a0 this mind, because our mind, human mind is the\u00a0 most sophet\u2026 sophisticated computer on the planet.\u00a0\u00a0 Even all the supercomputers have come out of this.\u00a0\u00a0 When this is the case, is it not important that\u00a0 we understand the mechanics of how it functions? One simplistic aspect of how\u00a0 it functions is \u2013 there are no\u00a0\u00a0 subtractions and divisions in our mind, there\u00a0 is only addition and multiplication. If you try\u00a0\u00a0 to do something with it, it will say, \u201cOne more.\u201d\u00a0 If you try hard, it will multiply into many more.\u00a0\u00a0 In this mind, you don’t try to identify what is\u00a0 positive, what is negative and try to remove it.\u00a0\u00a0 First of all, one needs to understand, this\u00a0 mind of yours, this body of yours is supposed\u00a0\u00a0 to serve you. The life that you are is important.\u00a0 Body and mind are vehicles that must serve us. If you sit in a vehicle, it must go (Laughs),\u00a0 where you want to go. If it goes to its own\u00a0\u00a0 destination, what is the point of such a\u00a0 vehicle? It’s just a nuisance. Right now,\u00a0\u00a0 most human beings are unfortunately, experiencing\u00a0 this fantastic possibility of human mind\u00a0\u00a0 as a nuisance, as a troublesome thing. Well,\u00a0 this is the most beautiful thing you have.\u00a0\u00a0 It’s just that you need to pay little attention\u00a0 as to how it functions. One simple thing is this \u2013\u00a0\u00a0 first and foremost process is\u2026 that’s why\u00a0 we put out this process called \u2018Isha Kriya.\u2019\u00a0\u00a0 This is to distance yourself from your\u00a0 physiological and psychological process.\u00a0\u00a0 There is something called as, \u201cYou\u201d which exists.\u00a0 This is not a composite of all your thoughts and\u00a0\u00a0 emotions and physiological processes. Beyond\u00a0 that, there is you. If you close your eyes,\u00a0\u00a0 even if you cannot see anything, you’re still\u00a0 there. It is through the window of your eyes\u00a0\u00a0 that you are looking out, but if you close your\u00a0 eyes, it doesn’t mean that you don’t exist,\u00a0\u00a0 you still exist. So, beyond your thought you\u00a0 still exist, beyond your emotion you still\u00a0\u00a0 exist, so that you, the life that you are,\u00a0 this has to come into your experience. Why is it that you’re not allowing\u00a0 that to come into your experience,\u00a0\u00a0 which is the most significant aspect of who you\u00a0 are? Who you are right now, the most significant\u00a0\u00a0 aspect is \u2013 you and me are alive right now,\u00a0 this is it. \u2018What I’m thinking, what you’re\u00a0\u00a0 thinking\u2019 is not the important thing. We are\u00a0 alive right now, that is the important thing.\u00a0\u00a0 So, it is important that you focus on this\u00a0 fundamental sense of aliveness within you,\u00a0\u00a0 and then you will see there is a natural\u00a0 distance between you and your thought process.00:04:55<\/a> Once there is a distance between your\u00a0 psychological process and your physiological\u00a0\u00a0 process, this is the end of suffering. Because\u00a0 there are only two kinds of suffering that human\u00a0\u00a0 beings go through \u2013 physical suffering and mental\u00a0 suffering. Once you create a little space between\u00a0\u00a0 you and your mind, between you and your body, this\u00a0 is the end of suffering. This is something every\u00a0\u00a0 human being has to experience and know, otherwise\u00a0 thinking, \u201cI will just remove negative thoughts\u00a0\u00a0 and I will have positive thoughts,\u201d all the\u00a0 best, it’s not going to work. One hundred percent\u00a0\u00a0 it\u2019s not going to work, because nobody can\u00a0 remove it, they can avoid it for some time. So, when negative thoughts come, you say,\u00a0 \u201cRam, Ram, Shiva, Shiva,\u201d whatever you want,\u00a0\u00a0 but this is just avoiding, it’s not gone. The\u00a0 moment you stop that, it will pop back with\u00a0\u00a0 great force, otherwise it will come back in your\u00a0 dreams. So, it’s very important. First of all, you\u00a0\u00a0 need to understand \u2013 your anger, your resentment,\u00a0 your fear, your anxieties, the negativity that\u00a0\u00a0 you generate; generally resentment, anger,\u00a0 it is always directed towards somebody.\u00a0\u00a0 But we need to understand this is poisons that we\u00a0 are drinking and expecting somebody else to die. Fortunately, life doesn’t work like\u00a0 that. If I drink poison, I die.\u00a0\u00a0 If I drink poison, you don’t die. So, we need to\u00a0 understand this. When I say, \u201cPoison\u201d \u2013 today,\u00a0\u00a0 you can have yourself chemically analyzed. Right\u00a0 now, \u2018what is your blood work?\u2019 What it says,\u00a0\u00a0 five minutes of intense anger, check your blood\u00a0 work and see, there will be lots of negative\u00a0\u00a0 elements in it. Literally, you’re poisoning\u00a0 yourself. So, do you want to poison yourself?\u00a0\u00a0 Definitely not. Now the very question is coming\u00a0 from certain helplessness, \u2018What shall I do?\u2019 Don’t do anything. Just sit back and just concern\u00a0 yourself with something which is the life process,\u00a0\u00a0 maybe your heartbeat, maybe your breath,\u00a0 maybe just the sensation of being alive.\u00a0\u00a0 Depending upon how sensitive or how perceptive\u00a0 you are, accordingly, find something, it could\u00a0\u00a0 be a sensation in the body, it could be breath,\u00a0 it could be heartbeat, it could be anything,\u00a0\u00a0 something which indicates life to you. Just pay\u00a0 attention to that for some time. Slowly, you will\u00a0\u00a0 see there is a distinction between what is you and\u00a0 what you have gathered, which includes both your\u00a0\u00a0 physiological and psychological possibility\u00a0 or mess, whatever you\u2019ve made out of it.
