As Twitchy reported yesterday, Dan Riehl responded to vile comments made by Joan Walsh with a fit of misogyny. This is unacceptable and cannot be condoned, no matter how indefensible the target may seem. There is never a valid excuse for such misogyny. He is now doubling down by sexually degrading a conservative woman who called him out on his sexist behavior.
@DanRiehl Let me guess, you're single? Pig.
— April Gregory Hill (@aprildgregory) May 27, 2012
He not only doubled down on the sexualization of women, but he also doubled down on another usually Leftist tactic: taking away a woman’s gender altogether.
@danriehl In calling Joan Walsh "not a woman" for expressing her views, you prove beyond any doubt that you are NO real man. Pathetic.
— Princess Greytown (@segmentis) May 27, 2012
ha ha ha ha RT @JewishOdysseus: @DanRiehl that was no woman, that was joan walsh!
— DanRiehl (@DanRiehl) May 27, 2012
The Left often tries to shame, demean and dehumanize conservative women to the point where even their very gender is taken away from them.
“Mama Grizzlies” were said to be “dressed up in a skirt and lipstick, as if to legitimize them.” Patricia Ireland of NOW told women to “vote for only authentic female candidates.” Wendy Doniger of The Washington Post said that Palin’s “greatest hypocrisy is in her pretense that she’s a woman.”
The ever bitter Eleanor Clift called Sarah Palin “Pat Buchanan in drag.” Salon said Sarah Palin “may be a lady, but she ain’t no woman.” And Naomi Wolf once said that Jeane Kilpatrick was “uninflected by the experiences of the female body.” Tennessee State Representative Janis Sontany, a Democrat, said this about female Republican state lawmakers: “You have to lift their skirts to find out if they are women. You sure can’t find out by how they vote!“
And Joan Walsh’s own Salon said “She may be a lady, but she ain’t no woman” in reference to Sarah Palin.
There is no place for such dehumanization and gender-stealing by self-professed arbiters of who is a real woman or not on the Right.
Some are upset that while Dan is being denounced, Joan Walsh is supposedly not being held to the fire for her own repugnant remarks.
@marychastain I dont care if they denounce it, or denounce me. But I didnt sign on to the movement to be preached to by anyone
— DanRiehl (@DanRiehl) May 27, 2012
False. No one is letting Joan Walsh off scot-free. But nor should anyone let misogynist behavior like this go, just because one is “on our side.” Breitbart.com editors realize that and have rightly denounced Riehl’s contemptible comments.
The disgusting behavior of @DanRiehl has now overshadowed the disgusting behavior of @JoanWalsh and that sucks. Both should apologize.
— Larry O'Connor (@LarryOConnor) May 27, 2012
while @DanRiehl works out his scatological issues, there is an election happening this year. Think @LarryOConnor is covering that
— Mike Flynn (@Flynn1776) May 27, 2012
@knowsknothing Yup. No equivocation. Wrong. Stupid. Hurtful. Useless. No excuse. None.
— Larry O'Connor (@LarryOConnor) May 27, 2012
That is important to note, because the Left-biased media will not. No equivocation. No excuses.
@LarryOConnor @DanRiehl Stupid. Agree with Stage. Figure out who you want to be when you grow up.
— Mike Flynn (@Flynn1776) May 27, 2012
I grudgingly agree with the broader point made at @mediaite today about @DanRiehl… not the embarrassing sanctimony, but the broader point.
— Larry O'Connor (@LarryOConnor) May 27, 2012
Point is, the @Mediaite article is basically correct. Even IF the writer is the LAST person to be lecturing about misogynistic behavior.
— Larry O'Connor (@LarryOConnor) May 27, 2012
But, it's pretty rich to see the writer at @mediaite acting holier than thou about dirty talk considering behavior I'VE witnessed from HIM
— Larry O'Connor (@LarryOConnor) May 27, 2012
Kudos, Breitbart editors. And, yes, the hypocrisy of the Left lecturing on this is astounding. Let conservatives not follow suit; they must leave the misogyny on the Left, who have proven themselves to be anti-woman time and time again. Like the saying goes, “scratch a progressive, find a sexist.”
Will Riehl listen or will he make himself a martyr? Now he’s retweeting people who are rightly calling him on his misogyny and who are offering some tips for Dan of their own. Implying that it is just ‘haters.’
RT @NewsConnoisseur: Hey @DanRiehl, how about you open your mouth so I can piss in it?
— DanRiehl (@DanRiehl) May 27, 2012
Andrew Breitbart used to retweet actual haters and vile comments from the Left in order to expose them. You, Mr. Riehl, are no Breitbart. And you are merely exposing yourself.

No sign of the 99%. Maybe under one of those tables?
This is the guy who’s dedicated a good portion of his life lately to assailing Mitt Romney for his wealth.
Romney fires undocumented gardeners b/c he's running for prez, but adding car elevator to one of his many houses is okay?

RT @zerOdysseus: @markos To be fair – it's not like Romney has car elevators in all of his houses.

Unless Markos was sleeping in a palm tree and catching his own fish, his accommodations probably weren’t cheap. And why should they have been? Kos is a capitalist peeeeeeg, after all. Why shouldn’t he enjoy the fruits of his labor?
Go back to the beach, Markos. You’re far more pleasant when no one can hear you.
