Stop using firefighters as governmental pawns, Left. Take it from a person who is coping with these fires right now.
It is entirely appropriate and possible to concern this management’s plan decisions while supporting frontline disaster workers simultaneously. Which is entirely rational and logical expressing appreciation for firefighters and police officers — while working to make sure the long-term economic viability of these departments through hard but necessary budget and general public staff member union reforms. But don’t check out Obama to place from flames of politically expedient and inflammatory rhetoric. He might be sluggish on the uptake to react to national crises, but once considering exploiting all of them, he’s an industrial-grade accelerant.
Specifically. Conservatives, and all sorts of individuals who aren’t morally broke, state “God bless our firefighters.”
